Jonny Drury and Lewis Cox analyse West Brom's draw at Blackburn
Albion had first half chances but it was a less than memorable game.
Both sides had second half spells and Darnell Furlong had a big second half penalty shout turned away.
But it is now five without a win for Carlos Corberan's men.

00:00Hello baggage fans, welcome to ExpressAndStyle.com. My name is Jonny Drury. I'm here at Ewood
00:12Park. Forgetful evening, nil-nil draw, five without a win and three of those games have
00:19produced no goals. Coxy, something's kind of missing from Albion. Yeah, you need to
00:24find a way to sharpen up in the creativity front, don't they? I thought play better slash
00:33created more tonight against a better side than Saturday, even though Saturday was quite
00:38close to the win, wasn't it? I think backburner, superior to Oxford and I think it was the
00:43right result tonight. It was even, they were good sides, the first any points have been
00:48taken from Ewood Park this season. I think while it was even and the right result probably,
00:52I think Albion made slightly edged it on chances. First off, two very good chances,
00:58weren't they? But fell to the wrong men, one each to one of the fullbacks. I've kind of
01:02nosebleeds. Yeah, I made that point to Corbyn just now, you know, a bit of language barrier
01:07probably with that, but sort of said fell to the wrong men, but he made the point that
01:10no, look, we want to attack with them. We want to, you know, set that this is a bit
01:15tactical for this, but it said more drops to with the back two and you know, other players
01:20have to supplement and get forward. So, but I think it was only the final 15 or 20 minutes
01:28of Ewood Park and same again in the second half when Albion were pretty dire, weren't
01:32they, for the start of the second half, but did come on. Carlos made the point of the
01:36Malumby one at the end where he tested keeper pairs, thought that was a big chance. He thought
01:41the penalty not given, the foul on Furlong, I think it was Cantwell, wasn't it? A little
01:47barge in a box in front of the away end. Most of us, most Albion fans watching on Sky and
01:52the crowd thought it was a pen. I think most people judged it by a yardstick of if VAR
01:56was in the championship, it would have been given. I think it would have been, but that's
01:59kind of find yourself saying that a lot. Yeah, Corbyn thought it was a penalty and he said
02:05he thought it was a penalty live and I think, yeah, most would looking at it, you've seen
02:10those given, but yeah, Albion had a bit of a go late on with a few shots saved probably
02:16too easily by the keeper. Yeah, just needs to click again, doesn't it? Josh Madger's
02:23goals have dried up, no slight on him. You know, seven and seven, we can't just depend
02:28on that constantly. Tom Fellow's assists, I think he was five and five for assists,
02:32they've dried up. Kind of put that to Corbyn now in a press conference. I mean, we'll speak
02:36on this more tomorrow, but he did say in a roundabout way that we have to find other
02:40ways. Can't be reliant on that. Find other avenues and that includes other attackers,
02:46other players in the squad who didn't start tonight, who came on again tonight. There
02:50were a couple of players I think below par tonight, weren't they? Dean Garner did not
02:53have a good night, did he? I'll just move on because we're going to do a short video
02:58tonight because we've got a podcast tomorrow, but that's the point I've just made in a little
03:01piece I've done on the Expressing Star website, which you can read right now. Is it a case,
03:06you know, we talk about, people talk about Corbran and I have questions, I will tomorrow
03:11on podcast questions, it's leg substitutions, but you know, selections and this and that,
03:15formations and tactics and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. But for me, I think
03:19as well, one point to be made, there are players out there who just weren't playing and are not
03:22playing, are not hitting the levels that they were in the first six games, whether that's
03:27effort levels, whether that's concentration, they're just, they're not at those levels.
03:32That seems to be maybe the easy answer, but that, to me, seems to be the answer.
03:38The six games were five wins and a draw from six, weren't they? And,
03:43you know, without wishing to sound sort of negative, obviously that was always going to
03:47level out at some point, wasn't it? But I don't think anyone would have expected a run of no
03:51wins in five, the worst of the head coaches reign, obviously marks two years, doesn't he, on Friday.
03:58They've not played a run of amazing teams either, have they? Yeah, with all due respect to teams
04:02where they should have picked up more points. Three blanks from the five games says it all,
04:06doesn't it? Someone asked me on social media after the game, they asked me something like,
04:13where's the dominance from the first six games gone? And, you know, I thought back and I looked
04:17at the results, a couple of one nil's in there, weren't they? Swansea, Plymouth at home, QPR on
04:23the opening day, obviously away, and Stoke as well, away. I kind of thought, were they dominant?
04:29They were good results, but were they dominant wins? There was dominant spells in those games,
04:32though, weren't there? Swansea, they ran all over them first half. Do you know what there was,
04:35it was one word in those games, clinical. They won them by the odd goal mostly, not QPR.
04:41Just coming on the wrong side of that now, aren't they? You said at the very top,
04:45not scoring enough at the moment. Still, all right, made chances tonight, but not creating
04:49enough at the moment. I think that's probably a bit of stylistically, personnel decisions,
04:55who starts, who comes on, but you're right, the players have to look at themselves and take
04:59moments. You know, okay, it's all right, excuse him for a longer miss. Okay, it's all right,
05:04excuse him, heck of a miss, but yeah, in big moments, big game, good sides, they can't both
05:10miss. Someone needs to take the chance. Again, in the second half, they were talking about Malumby
05:15having a shot from a good position and others later on from a bit further out,
05:19make the keeper work a little bit more, make it harder for them. Yeah, we'll discuss this more
05:24tomorrow on the pod. I know we're recording tomorrow morning, aren't we? It's a troublesome
05:31little stumble in the road at the moment, which is, it's quite funny because I think,
05:34Sheff, you lost, didn't they, tonight at Bourne, having shifted up a place to fourth, which is
05:39as barren sort of droughts go, you look at it and think, but again, look on the other side,
05:45like you said to me earlier, and imagine what could have been on the table if we'd have picked
05:49up a couple of wins in this run. So yeah, it's one of those, but the big home game on Saturday
05:54isn't there to really, yeah, it's a long way from a disaster or anything this streak, but
06:00it is a run that needs to put into an end. Certainly does, certainly does. Final score here
06:05at Ewood Park, Blackburn nil, Albion nil. Poddy tomorrow, all the rest of your action from tonight,
