00:00A four-game slate in the NBA on this Thursday night and a few
00:08teams waiting to make their season debut in 2024-25
00:13including two of the frontrunners DRS for a Western
00:16Conference crown this season. That includes the Western
00:20Conference favorite entering the year, the Oklahoma City
00:23Thunder and a team that has won the Western Conference
00:26championship in the last two seasons along with a Larry
00:29O'Brien trophy. That's the Denver Nuggets. Tonight at
00:33Altitude, the Nuggets play host to OKC. Denver a two-point
00:37home favorite. Total stands now at 227. Listen, it's the opening
00:43night of the year. It's more than likely not going to move
00:45the market but it is an impactful game that we will
00:49certainly take narratives from. What do you think the overall
00:52reaction will be to the opening night in Denver between the
00:56Nuggets and the Thunder? Oh, it'll be a tone center and so
00:59many times that I take a look at the NBA and say they get
01:01things right. They got things wrong tonight, Ben. You know
01:03what? This game, Oklahoma City and Denver, which everybody
01:05wants to watch, buried at 10 o'clock. You gotta be kidding
01:08me at this point here because I, Gilchrist, Alexander, Caruso,
01:12Dewart-Williams, Holmgren going up against the Koliokic. We
01:14wanna see that. Why is this game 9 o'clock, 8 o'clock, 7
01:17o'clock here at this point so the country can watch this game
01:21and enjoy it. So, I'll be just like most Americans. I'll wake
01:24up in the morning and say, wow, what an awesome game that
01:27was that I did not get to watch but you do see the respect that
01:30you're getting for Oklahoma City. That line opened up at
01:33two and a half at the Fandler Sportsbook. It's now actually
01:35down to two live and a total of 227. I do like this as a tone
01:40setter for the season for OKC. Slight underdog price. Show me
01:44what you're worth. Show me you're ready to go this season.
01:46Go out and beat Denver opening night on the road. Division's
01:50not nearly as impactful of course in the NBA. You don't
01:53get the benefit of winning your division or earn an automatic
01:56playoff bird and so on and so forth but OKC and Denver in the
02:00same Northwest division. The Thunder a slight favorite at
02:03plus 320. The Nuggets back by 20 cents at plus 340 which is
02:09interesting because your divisional price is based on
02:12your regular season record and OKC has a much higher win total
02:16than that of Denver. In fact, Oklahoma City to be the West's
02:20number one seed at the end of the year was even money plus
02:24100. Now that the NBA season is two days old, the market is
02:27down. Denver at plus 650. Of course, it was Oklahoma City as
02:33the number one seed a season ago out dueling and outlasting
02:37the Nuggets when all was said and done. DRS in fact, we look
02:41at the tier of four atop the Western Conference. All four
02:45teams in action. OKC, the Mavs and the TeeWolves tied for the
02:49second best price at five to one. The Nuggets fourth best
02:52number back by just a half buck at plus 550. The Timberwolves
02:57in game number two. The Mavericks in game number one
03:01against Victor Wiminyama in the San Antonio Spurs also making
03:06their season debut on this Thursday night in the Lone Star
03:10State Showdown in Texas. The Mavs and the Spurs face off in
03:15Dallas. Dallas booked as an eight point home favorite.
03:20Total 229 and a half. Dougie, that feels correct, right?
03:23Dallas was the Western Conference champ a year ago
03:26with a much brighter outlook. San Antonio won just 22 games
03:30in Victor Wiminyama's rookie season. It should be an eight
03:33point spread but in my estimation, if Wemby is going
03:37to contend for an MVP in San Antonio might even flirt with a
03:41playoff berth. They keep it within the number tonight.
03:44Yeah, maybe a lot of three-point shots too. You
03:46don't want to go down to the paint because that guy's going
03:48to be able to come out of nowhere and block your shot. So
03:50if I'm looking at this game optimistically, let the
03:52three-pointers reign from Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, and Clay
03:55Thompson as we start the clay era now for the Dallas Mavericks
03:59but for me, if I want to take a real shot in this game, it's
04:02not the eight and a half. It's not the 229 and a half. It's
04:04getting the season started off on the right foot. That's Luka
04:06Doncic on his way to a possible MVP. Give me the
04:10triple double tonight that I think is priced around that
04:13plus 260 plus 270 number where it was this morning on the
04:16Fans of Sportsbook. Luka with a big night tonight. Ten boards,
04:19ten rebounds, ten assists or more. Absolutely, Luka. Let's
04:22get it on. Both of these guys do historic things. I believe
04:26it was Luka Doncic last year not just scoring seventy-three
04:29but was it six or seven consecutive games with a
04:32thirty-point triple double. Again, nobody in NBA history
04:36had ever done that. That's the anticipation we expect for
04:39Victor Wemenyama. Just the sixth ever unanimous rookie of
04:42the year in NBA history. Luka enters as the MVP favorite at
04:47plus 330. Victor Wemenyama at a twenty to one price. The thing
04:52that might hold Wemby back is the Spurs outlook. Thirty-five
04:56and a half is the win total. A plus 360 price to reach the
05:01postseason. The Sacramento Kings start their season tonight
05:04as well. Slight home underdog against the T-wolves. Looking
05:08to bounce back in Northern California. The Celtics a
05:11thirteen-and-a-half point favorite in game number two in
05:15DC. The Wizards season starts. The Alex Sor era debuts tonight
05:20in the nation's capital.
