00:00PKR is determined to overcome its recent struggles and lead Pakistan Harapan and the government,
00:08according to the party's new secretary-general, Fuzia Saleh.
00:11In an interview with FMT, she acknowledged that PKR has underperformed since its president
00:16Anwar Ibrahim became the leader of the unity government after GE15 in 2022.
00:22Fuzia said the party is addressing issues, including rectifying the perception the party
00:27is divided, which is crucial for maintaining voter trust.
00:31We are very diversified, that the united voice may be lost in the diversity.
00:39It's important to come forth as a strong voice, and I think we may have lost that over
00:44time, so we need to go back and reinforce that.
00:48PKR, after winning 31 seats in GE15 and forming the unity government, has faced several setbacks,
00:54securing only 24 of 59 seats in state elections and losing three subsequent by-elections.
01:01We need to, I think it's a wake-up call for our party.
01:05There are other issues, however, I think we need to have a discussion on the narrative
01:12on how we address those issues.
01:14However, she said that despite DAP's stronger performance in GE15, there is no concern that
01:19DAP will try to take control of PH.
01:23Kedilan will remain, it will continue to helm and it will remain at the centre stage.
01:29Danish Roger Reza, FMT News.
