00:01Yeah, Llywydd, I'd like to ask for two statements, Trefnydd.
00:04One from the Minister for Culture around arts funding.
00:07I recently visited Wye Side in Bilth, Wales, and they celebrate 150 years next year of
00:12that theatre being open, that cinema being open in Bilth, Wales.
00:16They have an ambitious project to actually bring the building back to life and spend
00:19an awful lot of money there, so I'd like a statement from the Minister for Culture about
00:23the equitability of arts funding across Wales to make sure that all venues get funding and
00:29not just specific ones in certain parts of the country.
00:32I'd also like to ask for a statement from the Minister for Transport regarding the road
00:37review.
00:38I've got a scheme in my constituency which is on Pontybath Crossroads.
00:41There's been an awful lot of accidents over the years.
00:45The road review panel took that out and said it wasn't suitable to be proceeded with.
00:49That's something that comes with a great alarm to my local community, so it would be very
00:52useful to get an update on the road review panel and its work to make sure that schemes
00:56like the one at Pontybath get done, because we've lost too many lives unnecessarily there
01:00and any delay might cost more.

01:06Of course, the importance of our social, cultural, economic, local arts value of the arts centre
01:12at a local level in Wales is profound, and I know the Minister for Culture and Skills
01:18and Social Partners should be glad to hear this question this afternoon.
01:24We have allocated an additional non-recurrent sum of £1.5 million revenue funding for this
01:31financial year to help the Arts Council, because, of course, this is an arm's-length funding
01:37principle with the Arts Council of Wales, to particularly protect jobs and strengthen
01:43resilience in the arts centre and that arts sector, and that would, of course, include
01:49support across your constituencies, across Powys.
01:55Your second point, I think, is a matter foróif there's a particular issue about road safety,
02:00I mean, obviously, we still very much support local authorities with road safety grants.
02:07I think this is something you need to raise, not just with the local authority as the key
02:13recipient of that road safety, but also I'm sure that the Cabinet Secretary for North
02:19Wales and Transport would be happy to receive a correspondence with you on that matter.
