00:00The signing of Logi Ramazzani was in no doubt the replacement for Cricencio Somerville at
00:07Leeds United. With the Whites having cashed in on their star man, a replacement was needed
00:12if promotion was to be on the cards this season. Lee Sobert outlined whether Ramazzani has
00:18yet lived up to Somerville's ability.
00:21Well probably not quite yet, or definitely not quite yet in terms of output anyway. He's
00:25already got a couple of goals to his name and he's very unlucky not to get another one
00:29against Sheffield United, forced one outstanding save and also hit the post. I think he's actually
00:34probably a little bit, maybe even a bit ahead of where maybe Leeds thought he might be and
00:38maybe where Daniel Farke might think he might have been. Because he was very keen to say
00:42when he came in, you know, you can't sort of replace players like for like and stuff.
00:45And obviously very keen to avoid the whole, this is the new Cricencio Somerville vibe
00:49because I mean that puts massive pressure on somebody when you're sort of player of
00:51the season and you've got the goals and assists that he has. But you know, he's settled in
00:56very, very quickly. And I mean, to my eye, he already looks like Leeds' star really.
01:02When I say star, I mean, you're sort of like, you're sort of star rat in terms of like an
01:06attacking sense, you know, like someone who like stands out like in the final third and
01:09stuff because you can have best players and star players who are defenders obviously.
01:13And, you know, some people could argue like, you know, Pascal's like Leeds' most important
01:17player or whatever, or they could say Joe Rodan is and stuff and, or Ampadu when he's
01:20fit and, you know, I could totally agree with all of those, you know, 100%, you know, definitely
01:24big, big, big players. But when you start talking about players in the final third making
01:28things happen, he looks, he almost, he looks like the one already for me.
01:32Lee then made clear just what makes Ramazzani such an exciting player to watch and why he
01:38and his ability could be the key to Leeds winning promotion and returning to the Premier
01:42League after two seasons away from England's top division.
01:46I mean, he's quick, he's got skill, as I say, amazing touch. He's already starting to get
01:52output to his game in terms of like goals and assists and stuff. And again, like we
01:56said with Rothwell, in terms of like, he'll get better because he's not had that many
02:00starts. So will Ramazzani, you know, he's still new to the club, he's still settling
02:03in, probably still work, still improving in terms of like fitness wise and sort of like
02:07getting used to the physicality of the league and stuff. So they've got a very, very good
02:10player there. And, you know, I mean, obviously Nonto is the obvious one, I suppose, as well.
02:14Like we all know what he can do when he's on song. But so if you've got like Ramazzani
02:17on one flank and Nonto on the other, and then obviously you've got Dan James waiting in
02:20the wings as well, you know, and the other attacking players, Leeds have got, you know,
02:24it's a very serious front line in the championship, really.
02:28Despite Ramazzani's price tag, many at Elland Road believe it was the right deal to do for
02:34the club at the time.
02:37So to my end, only ÂŁ10 million, I mean, you know, that's decent money in the championship.
02:43But even at this stage, especially at his age, like that looks like a pretty decent
02:46purchase, really. And I suspect, you know, he could end up being worth an awful lot more
02:50than that. So let's hope he fires Leeds to promotion, an automatic promotion. It certainly
02:54looks like, you know, he's got it within him to do that.
