00:00It is very difficult to stand here and say anything after what we've just seen, heard and observed.
00:14I must express my extreme gratitude to Akinnani Nageshwar Rao Foundation, to NAG
00:26and the entire family for giving me this very deep honor and privilege to be here with all of you this evening.
00:38I want to express my gratitude to NAG and the Foundation and the entire family
00:52for bringing to life a colossus that we've had the privilege to observe and see
01:02that has walked on this earth, this earth of Telugu cinema and indeed the entire film industry
01:10and given us so much of happiness, joy, entertainment, culture
01:17that it is very difficult for anyone to stand here and match his contribution to Indian cinema.
01:31NAG to you and your family, I want to express my gratitude for
01:39living up to this legacy that your respected father has left for all of us.
01:48I'm just reminded of a poem my father wrote, it was called Vasiyatnama, which means the last will
01:59and he talks in it about how his friends have been telling him, you know, you must write a will
02:06because what are you going to leave for your sons and in today's times the kind of life that
02:14we are living even a son has to go to court to prove that he is his father's son. So you should
02:21write something. My father then says in the poem that whatever I got I haven't been able to leave
02:26any material wealth, no money on anything for my sons. I write poetry, I've written some words
02:34and these are the manuscripts that I have with me and I hope that it can be looked after with respect
02:41but the line that I wish to say today was this one particular line in that poem which is in Hindi
02:50which said,
02:52mere bete hone se mere utradhikari nahi honge, jo mere utradhikari honge, wo mere bete honge.
03:04My sons,
03:08my sons, just because you are my son doesn't mean that you will be my inheritors.
03:15They that are my inheritors will be my sons and Nag you have proved that you and your family
03:25are the true inheritors and the true sons of this great personality
03:33Sri Nageshwar Rao who has adorned our film industry.
03:40I'm deeply grateful to you Nag, to the foundation, to your entire family.
03:46I'm also deeply honored that you have chosen me to honor my dear friend my colleague Chiranjeevi
03:55who has been such a dear friend whenever he calls or whenever I ask him for something
04:05he's always there. Thank you Chiranjeevi Garu if I may address you for all that you've done for me
04:14for giving me a part in your film, Nag for giving me a part in your film,
04:20for Vijayanthi films and Nageshwar for giving me a part in your film.
04:27I can now proudly say that I am a member of the Telugu film industry
04:33and I am proud to be a member of the Telugu film industry.
04:38Much has already been said I just wish to express my gratitude once again
04:45to Chiranjeevi Garu for this award and thank you so much Chiranjeevi for your friendship,
04:52for your concern, for your love, for your affection, for your humility and for your

05:10So much lunch you sent me today I could have fed the entire hotel with it.
05:16Chiranjeevi Garu felt that I needed some lunch and so he sent me a whole basket full of food.

05:37all these fine gentlemen who have given me a small part in their films like Nag and Chiranjeevi and
