00:10These are the targets that the countries, including the UN, can meet, including Zero Hunger, Gender Equality, Quality Education, Climate Protection, and others.

00:33In 2015, the United Nations set the 17 Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs, including Zero Hunger, Gender Equality, Quality Education, Climate Protection, and others.
00:47The Philippines ranks 62nd out of 167 countries when it comes to SDG score, one of the lowest in ASEAN.
00:56In the exclusive coverage of GMA Integrated News, UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohamed, who is in the Philippines for the International Conference on Women, Peace, and Security,
01:06said that the Philippines is not alone in the difficulty of meeting the SDGs due to the COVID pandemic and other factors such as the climate crisis and the war in Ukraine.
01:36Mohamed believes that it is not impossible for the Philippines to meet the SDGs.
01:44I'm very optimistic that you will go far. There are a number of challenges that you have ahead. Reforms have to be owned and they have to be consolidated upon. It's important that we look at all the communities.
01:57This year marks the 79th anniversary of the establishment of the UN.
02:02Although many still believe in its ability and capacity, there are countries questioning its effectiveness.
02:10But for the UN, the importance of their organization remains.
02:15Multilateralism still works and it's still very important to our global family being able to have a voice for their concerns, for the opportunities, for the challenges.
02:27A space where there is a light on all issues. Without us having that space to continue to try to do that, it would be much worse.
