JPMorgan has begun legal proceedings against customers who allegedly stole hundreds of thousands of dollars during a technical malfunction in the bank’s ATM systems.

00:09Customers would deposit counterfeit checks and then withdraw the cash before the check bounced.
00:14And now the bank has filed at least four separate federal lawsuits,
00:17including one case where a sum of more than $290,000 was allegedly withdrawn by a Chase customer.
00:24The total of all four cases comes to more than $661,000.
00:29The bank is hoping to get the stolen money back, including interest and overdraft fees on the accounts,
00:34plus legal fees and in some cases punitive damages are also being sought.
