Horrific moment mourners gunned down in drive-by shooting at stab victim's funeral

00:30One young man was shot to the chest, another to the leg and another to the foot.

00:34Thankfully they all received urgent medical care which saved their lives.

00:37It was obvious to us from the start that this was a gang related shooting.

00:40The offenders expected to find persons in the crowd who they deemed to be rival gang

00:44members and committed this offence in furtherance of a gang dispute which has plagued the streets

00:48of Birmingham for years.

00:49The investigation was complicated.

00:51The gunman sat in the rear of that vehicle, fired four shots into the crowd.

00:55Offenders had taken good steps to cover their tracks, the stolen vehicle had been quickly

01:00deposited.

01:01They left nothing behind aside from the bullets in their victims and casings found on the

01:05street nearby.

01:06A huge amount of CCTV was recovered and viewed, telecoms evidence scrutinised as well and

01:12forensic inquiries to link suspects to the vehicle.

01:30your loved one peacefully, it should be at a funeral and the following week.

01:34You can see on the CCTV the congregation is gathered as the vehicle drives past and the

01:38shots are fired.

01:39You can just see the sheer panic in the group as they run searching for any place to hide

01:42and save their own life.

01:44Not only do we have the three young men that were shot, we also had a young girl who was

01:47trampled in the crowd who also received significant injuries.

01:50I've absolutely no doubt it will affect the people present at that wake for years to come

01:54and in some cases the rest of their lives.

01:55We're really happy with the successes of the investigation and it's a great result to have.
