00:00Greetings and welcome to another episode of Dom Jolly Castle Slagger. Today we're
00:06outside Doncaster, thank God, in a place called Conisbrough and there's our
00:12first sight of it. It's looking all right, it's a castle. Right we're inside the castle
00:19walls and obviously I don't need to tell you but this is one of the best preserved
00:24keeps in the United Kingdom and I love a keep. Like Clifford's Tower in York, it's
00:31just a shame they've got stairs and not the original escalators or lifts that
00:36they would have had back in the day. So this is the view north and I suppose
00:41this is why they built the keep in the end, is so that in the sort of 8th
00:44century they could keep a watch out over this housing estate and probably trains
00:51coming down from Scotland with hooligans I'd imagine. Very little has
00:57changed since the 8th century. Down there you can see prisoners from Scotland
01:03working on the grounds and they'll have been arrested for painting their arses
01:09blue in public or whatever. It's incredible how time doesn't change.
01:14Can I be honest, it's just beyond me why Channel 5 have not picked me up for this show.
