Transcript
00:00Life in Clovelly was very simple. It was football, swimming and cricket.
00:04What's our sport about? What's rugby league about? Rugby league is about getting participants in at a younger age to give them an opportunity.
00:09Playing here, I said, for a lifetime of memory.
00:11First tackle, your first run, your first try.
00:15Keith was a bit different as a coach before his time.
00:17All the kids called him Pop.
00:19Harry McKeown was Mr Clovelly.
00:21Never thought about who financed the club, who paid for the jumpers or the shorts.
00:25There is a name that is Clovelly through and through. It's Ken McMorrah.
00:29Imagine him playing as a nippy little half-back. Dave Hunter.
00:32If you had an argument with him, he'd take you out the back of the dressing chairs.
00:36Arthur Manson. They were the two rocks.
00:38From the word go, there was just something about Sean that was just unbelievable.
00:42I've never seen it before. Supporters just jumped the fence when the full-time siren went.
00:46And it was just incredible. It was just emotional.
00:48It's cheering and cheering and cheering.
00:55The standard then in A grade was pretty serious.
00:57We're at the point of folding if we can't, you know, my husband and I can't keep doing this.
01:01Clovelly isn't the biggest region, and so we have our challenges.
01:04Teams that play for each other are a successful region.
01:07Fighting hard and tackling hard.
01:08To describe my time at Clovelly, it was ups and downs, but ultimately rewarding.
01:14Never forget it if you lose, and you'll never forget it if you win.
01:18Watching these kids, it's watching a lot of little victories.
01:22And that's what all that age football should be.
01:27Go Cougars!
