00:00We've had to do what is responsible to fix the foundations and rebuild our country.
00:07As I think is now well understood, we inherited a £22 billion black hole,
00:12money that wasn't accounted for by the last government.
00:15I'm not prepared to simply walk past that. We have to fix it.
00:18So we've done the responsible thing.
00:20The principles that we've put in place are to stabilise our economy
00:25and to invest in the future along with reform.
00:29In a sense, it's important to bear in mind what we get for that.
00:34What we get for that is investment in our NHS, bringing those waiting lists down.
00:38That is hugely important to millions of people.
00:41We get investment in our schools and the teachers that are definitely needed.
00:45We get investment in house building, the homes that people desperately need
00:49as an affordable place to live.
00:51So yes, difficult decisions, but we've scrubbed down,
00:54we've taken the difficult, tough decisions now.
00:56And I think everybody would, or many people, would be in agreement
00:59that health, education and housing and issues like that
01:02are the really important things for our country to be driving towards.
