Trump or Harris? MEP surrogates take sides

The US elections will greatly impact Europe: but how? Two MEPs take sides and offer pitches for the two candidates.

00:00I think that Trump and his team, they must have a much better chance to solve or at least

00:23to find a way to solve the problem.

00:27I think there is bipartisan support in Congress for further supporting Ukraine, both militarily

00:36But obviously a President Trump would cast a bit of doubt.

00:41Maybe there would be more pressure on Ukraine to basically give up territories and sign

00:46up to some peace.

00:49First of all, Kamala Harris has no story about the defense or security or any of these

01:00items.

01:01I'm sorry to say, the only thing she speaks about is abortion, being a feminist, being

01:09this and that.

01:11Trump has been very outspoken about Europe needing to invest more in defense and he put

01:17into question NATO's common defense for EU members that don't spend enough, according

01:26to him.

01:27So I think the alliance would definitely be under additional pressure.

01:33Definitely Trump, because Trump wants to appease the situation and Harris is like all the activists

01:46is trying to put more fire, more wood to the fire and increasing the fire.

01:51That's quite obvious.

01:53I'm not sure on that one it makes such a big difference.

01:57But obviously the erratic, chaotic presidency that we would have to expect under Trump,

02:05you never know where that goes, basically.

02:09So I think a Kamala presidency would basically be calmer, more intelligent and more thought

02:17through.

02:18Trump is much better in economic terms than Harris, that's obvious.

02:28Europe now is more important for the United States than it was then because of the geopolitical

02:32situation in the world.

02:35I don't think, I don't foresee those trade wars like we had in the United States during

02:41his mandate.

02:42I think everything will be much smoother if we know how to play it.

02:46The kind of tariff wars we have seen under Trump the last time, I fear would come back

02:53so there as well.

02:55I personally would have a preference for Kamala Harris.
