00:00So here we have the entrance to the house, as you can see it's quite traditional in style.
00:06If we make our way through here, we'll come towards the garden area,
00:10where on a nice sunny summer's day, or even today when it's nice and mild in the autumn,
00:15you can come and enjoy a cup of coffee or a pint of beer,
00:19and just take in the views.
00:24A nice swinging chair there, which is a nice place to sit and admire the view,
00:28with the fells in the distance.
00:31We've also got, as we come down here, quite an extensive garden area.
00:35Again, there's some nice areas to sit and just take in the views there.
00:39As you can see, there's an extensive dining area here, where you can enjoy breakfast,
00:43and also a three-course evening meal.
00:47As we make our way through here, coming into the bar area.
00:52We've got a range of spirits and a range of drinks.
01:00A colourful seating area here in the bar.
01:06Making our way through here to the lounge, which you can see is also decorated nice and colourful.
01:13Obviously at the end of a nice walk or cycle ride out, you can come and sit here by the fire.
01:21Lots of interesting decoration here, and as you make your way around the hotel,
01:27there are quite a few little trinkets and artefacts,
01:31linking back to the fact that Beatrix Potter stayed here,
01:34and actually wrote two of her books while staying in this house.
01:38And again in the entrance area here, another nice warming fire,
01:42which welcomes visitors when they arrive to the hotel.
01:45They are also the most lost bird of prey, because they're quite often the first bird people get.
01:50But they're easy to make a lot of mistakes with as well.
01:54So if you mess them up, they can be quite aggressive.
01:57All these are really chill, so we do a lot of stuff with kids at schools and stuff with these.
02:06But yeah, he prefers company.
02:08Cassidy's not working, or we give him a few weeks off each year when they drop their feathers.
02:13Wherever you go in the house, you've got constant reminders of the fact that Beatrix Potter lived,
02:18and actually wrote a number of her books while she was residing here at Lindoth Howe.
02:23One of the books she wrote, The Tale of Pigling Bland.
02:27As I say, I know Peter Rabbit's probably her most famous book.
02:31But she also, while she was here, wrote The Tale of Timmy Tittles, which she penned in 1911.
