00:00While the Manila North Cemetery and the Manila Police District remind visitors to the cemetery
00:06to be adequately aware or informed of their not-to-do list on the Days of the Dead observance,
00:12still there are always troublemakers or nonconformists who seek to sneak in banned items like vendors
00:18selling their ware secretly inside and bladed weapons and alcohol found in visitors' possessions.
00:25Our Noel Talacay took his team to the country's largest graveyard where he found a Christian
00:30sect trying to preach and sway people to their faith.
00:35William, the situation right now here in the Manila North Cemetery is way different from
00:44this afternoon's situation.
00:45As you can see behind me, it's not anymore crowded and really right now you can feel
00:51the serenity of the area.
00:53According to the Manila Police District, the celebration of Austin's Day today here
00:58was generally peaceful, however, there are impertinent and erring individuals who are
01:04having difficulty in following the guidelines of the cemetery.
01:10This group of ladies was calling on the cemetery goers to buy their flowers and candles.
01:16They were hidden behind a museum wall inside the Manila North Cemetery.
01:21According to the guidelines of the cemetery, selling inside is prohibited, however,
01:36It is also said that pets are not allowed inside the cemetery but this guy brought his
01:41pet to Manila North Cemetery, ending he was stopped to get inside.
01:46He said he can't do anything but to wait his family outside the cemetery.
01:50They also said that they can't afford to leave their pet dog alone in their house.
02:01Even the number of confiscated prohibited items doubled today.
02:05According to the data from Manila Police, as of 6 p.m., a running total of 2,267 prohibited
02:13items were seized from cemetery goers.
02:17This is higher compared to yesterday's data wherein a total of over 800 pieces of prohibited
02:23items were collected.
02:28Meanwhile, there was a group of other religious sect preaching about their beliefs.
02:33They were also distributing flyers explaining their religious preaching.
02:37Since Austin's Day was influenced by Spaniards to Filipinos as one of the activities of the
02:43Catholic religion, this preaching by people from a different faith inside Manila Cemetery
02:50raised a few eyebrows.
02:52Some said this religious group was seizing the moment or opportunity to speak to the
02:58multitude or the mass gathering in the cemetery and perhaps sway some minds.
03:05PTV News tried to get the statement from this religious group about their activity today
03:16in the Manila North Cemetery, but they chose to stay silent or not comment.
03:24William, according to the record or monitor of the Manila Police District, they were able
03:30to monitor a total of more than a million of individuals came into the Manila North
03:37Cemetery to pay respect to their loved ones.
03:40And tomorrow, the cemetery will be open to the public at 5 o'clock in the morning.
03:44William?
03:45Yes, thank you very much.
03:47Noel Talaca reporting live from the Manila North Cemetery.
