00:00I'm Cam Smith, host of Ebony's Amplify presented by Nationwide.
00:05We delve deep into the incredible community work of some of the NFL's finest both on and
00:10off the field.
00:12We amplify four NFL stars who are changing the game.
00:16Eli Harreld, a former linebacker who is empowering youth through his organization, Seven Legend.
00:23And hopefully they can learn and take something, you know, if it's just one little thing, you
00:28know, and hopefully they can apply it to their life.
00:34That's why I'm in this thing, man, you know, youth is up next.
00:38I feel like we're living in a society now where things are running rampant a million
00:42miles a minute, you know, with social media and the news and all of these things.
00:46So I'm just trying to do my part.
00:49Donovan Cotton, the Buccaneers assistant scouting director, is shaping the next generation of
00:54talent with his scouting school for the youth.
00:58What we aim to do is really educate them on what's it like to be an NFL scout.
01:04We kind of felt that exposure for all students and especially minorities was lacking, right?
01:12And so, you know, it's been excellent and they're learning and they're growing.
01:17And we already have some students now that are in college that now have a goal to be
01:22NFL scout.
01:23And we have that relationship, which is also a key piece in any business.
01:28Deshaun Dixon, Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end, is keeping communities warm and safe
01:33as he collabs with the Keep VA Warm organization.
01:36Well, I've met a couple of people who, like I said, started their own foundations and
01:41stuff like that.
01:42And, you know, they're doing stuff with the community and it's like, you know, how can
01:45I get to that point and how can I host these events?
01:48How can I help people in need and stuff like that when I do have this platform?
01:54It's not really all about the cameras, it's just like, you know, just making a difference.
02:02And Marquise Bell, safety for the Dallas Cowboys, is giving back through Bell Cares, supporting
02:08the youth in his community.
02:11People that have went to HBCUs know, like, it's not easy, you know, you have your ups
02:15and your downs, you struggle, but, you know, it's like a family.
02:18So, you know, you have your people that you can lean on, you know, I have my coaches,
02:22I have my teammates, you know, students might have their classmates or their professors,
02:26things of that sort.
02:27But I just feel like just being there, being around that atmosphere, being around just
02:32the energy.
02:33My first day on campus, I'm like, yeah, like, I gotta come here.
02:37Like, I felt like I was at home and I was only on campus for like an hour or two.
02:42So, like, just, you know, being in that atmosphere just definitely helped me grow as a person,
02:46as a man.
02:47These men are more than athletes, they are community heroes.
