Wicked Movie Featurette - Singing Live

Get ready to return to Oz in Wicked, the highly anticipated adaptation of the iconic Broadway musical, set to enchant theaters on November 27, 2024. Directed by Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians), Wicked dives into the untold story of the witches of Oz, reimagining the lives of Elphaba and Glinda before Dorothy’s arrival.

The film stars Grammy, Emmy, and Tony-winning Cynthia Erivo (Harriet, The Color Purple) as Elphaba, a young woman born with green skin and misunderstood by those around her. Alongside her is global pop sensation Ariana Grande as Glinda, a popular young woman driven by ambition. The two meet as students at Shiz University, forming an unlikely but profound friendship. However, a fateful encounter with The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (Jeff Goldblum) will put their bond to the test, leading them down separate paths with life-altering consequences.

While Glinda’s desire for acceptance and power pulls her one way, Elphaba’s commitment to truth and justice pushes her in another, ultimately shaping their destinies as Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West. With powerhouse performances, spellbinding visuals, and a fresh perspective on a timeless tale, Wicked promises to cast a new light on Oz’s most famous witches and captivate audiences in theaters this Thanksgiving.
