03 November - National weather forecast presented by Jonathan Vautrey.
Transcript
00:00Hello there, very good morning to you. During this second half of the weekend, we do still
00:05have high pressure in charge, so it's generally keeping things relatively calm and settled
00:09for most with light winds, though a bit more of a breeze around some coastal districts
00:13in the west and north. Underneath this area of high pressure, though, is a great expanse
00:17of cloud, so for most of us, again, it is going to be a largely drab, grey day, unfortunately.
00:23There will be spots of drizzle around to watch out for, particularly around some coastal
00:27districts and over the hills. It's going to be parts of northern Scotland that see
00:30the best of the sunshine poking its way through during today. Temperatures are around average
00:35for the time of year, so not feeling too bad when you are stepping outside as long as you've
00:39got a coat on, but indoor areas will be feeling quite chilly at times due to the lack of sunshine
00:45in play for most of us. If you do have any bonfire celebrations this evening, it should
00:49remain largely dry, thanks to that area of high pressure. Still, though, where the cloud
00:53is thick enough, do watch out for some spots of drizzle around particularly Irish coastal
00:58districts. It's going to be northern areas of Scotland that hold on again to some of
01:02the clearest spells overnight, so temperatures will drop off a little bit more here. There
01:05could be some patchy frost in places, but elsewhere underneath the clouds will be staying
01:10on the positive side of things. As we head throughout Monday, for many of us, it will
01:15be a relatively similar story. A lot of clouds still in charge, another grey day, but a slight
01:20change in wind direction could provide a little bit more brightness to develop across
01:24the far south east of England, but also the likes of western Wales, parts of Northern
01:27Ireland and western Scotland as well do have the potential to see some sunshine arriving
01:32during Monday. Temperatures will be on a slight downward trend, more of us around 11 to 12
01:38degrees Celsius during the day, but despite that, we will eventually see another shift
01:44in wind direction later on in the week and eventually more of a southerly, if not a southwestly
01:49starting to feed in, much milder conditions. And so temperatures will be climbing back
01:53up a bit again, though the cloud is very much likely to stay with us throughout. Do stay
01:58up to date with the forecast, there will be plenty more over the next few days and we'll
02:01see you again here very soon. Bye bye.
