00:00Early voting for the US elections drew to a close on Sunday.
00:06Several states saw a record high of early voter turnout, with North Carolina recording
00:11more than 4.5 million early voters, which was a sharp increase from the 3.6 million
00:18in 2020.
00:20In Columbus, Ohio, although polling officially ended at 5pm, voters who were in the line
00:26were still eligible to vote that day.
00:29We've been here for about two and a half hours, we're about an hour and a half in,
00:33we got some pizza, we've just been finishing it up and just talking with each other, excited
00:38to vote.
00:39You know, it's getting darker out so I think we're more like chilling now than we were
00:43like hype before, but you know, I think the people that are still here are passionate
00:49and they care.
00:51It might not be hype, but it's definitely driven.
00:54I've been in line for about two and a half hours and wanted to do early voting, realised
01:02when I got here that probably a lot of other people had the same idea as well.
01:06I didn't realise it was going to be quite this long, so that's why I stayed in line,
01:10but once I'm committed, I'm committed, so I'm just going to finish it out and vote today.
01:14Presidential candidate Donald Trump made his last pitch for support in Pennsylvania, which
01:20is the largest of the seven swing states expected to decide the winner of Tuesday's election.
01:26His rival, US Vice President Kamala Harris, attended her rally in Michigan to woo the
01:31voters.
01:33Opinion polls show the two locked in a tight race, with Harris bolstered by strong support
01:38among women voters, while Trump gaining ground with Hispanic voters.
01:43More than 76 million Americans have already cast their early votes ahead of the D-Day
01:49on Tuesday.
