00:27In this sense, the Moroccan company Bonsat and Thales Alenia Space, a co-company between the Thales and Leonardo groups,
00:35have announced the signing of an agreement protocol for the construction of a Moroccan satellite communication system.
00:41This telecommunication system aims to provide high-speed connectivity to 26 African countries, including 23 French-speaking countries,
00:49and to serve a population of more than 550 million people, spread over an area of 12 million square kilometers.
00:57The agreement protocol was signed during the official visit of Emmanuel Macron to Morocco,
01:02in the presence of Nadiaftah Alawi, Moroccan Minister of Economy and Finance,
01:07and Antoine Arman, French Minister of Economy, Finance and Industry.
01:11This agreement is part of the roadmap between the two countries
01:15concerning digitization initiatives in the African region, such as Digital Economy for Africa or Digital Morocco 2030.
01:23Still in the Kingdom, on the eve of the 7th Marrakech Aeronautics Fair,
01:28the Moroccan Minister of Industry and Trade, Riyad Mzour,
01:31highlighted the main strengths of the Moroccan aerospace sector and challenged the participants of the Marrakech Airshow 2024.
01:40This challenge will be met by the 147 companies in the sector,
01:45which carry out an annual turnover of about 22 billion dirhams
01:49and employ 21,000 employees with a local integration rate of 40%.
01:54As underlined by the Minister of Industry and Trade,
01:57the increase in the production capacity of Morocco in this sector has attracted important international partners,
02:04which allows the manufacture of any aircraft component on Moroccan soil.
