Dominating Atlanta’s thriving car-modding scene has come easy for one man and his Joker-themed, speaker-packed bass-mobile. Jay Jones, AKA ‘Joka’, used 62 speakers to transform his 2004 Tahoe into an earth-shaking monster on 30-inch rims, and he’s causing a stir at car shows around the South East US. Jay, whose moniker stands for ‘Justified Over Known Adversity’ told Ridiculous Rides: “When I go to shows and people hear me turn the truck on, they get to dancing, they come over with cameras, they enjoy my truck. “I focus on audio because I like to please the crowd and also I like to get the crowd moving, I like to see the kids dancing around, even the old people, you know?"

00:00When I play my music, everybody enjoys it.
00:12They get behind my truck, they dance, and I let them get in, take pictures.
00:16That's what it's about, man.
00:17It's about the kids.
00:18Hey, I'm Jay Jones, and my truck is the Infiniti Tahoe.
00:39And the reason why they call me Joker, it's J-O-K-A, not E-R.
00:43It stands for Justified Overknown Adversities.
00:47I have doors that are made of Infiniti glass.
00:50I'm the first person to have ever done Infiniti mirror doors with my 10s, sponsored by DS18.
00:59Custom seats with custom pillows done with my Joker face on here.
01:07I can hook this one up.
01:08It's the Joker.
01:09It was custom-made.
01:10Turn his head.
01:11Turn the bass up.
01:12Turn the bass down.
01:13And everything is custom.
01:14Custom console made up.
01:20It lights up.
01:21It has the Pac-Man clock with two EQs in it.
01:26You see my little Joker running across the screen.
01:31I have a wall, 418s, sponsored by DS18.
01:34I have 62 total speakers in this truck.
01:45I have 418s Troublemakers behind the seat in a flat wall.
01:51Then in the back stunt wall, I have 16 tweeters, I have 16 horns, and I have 8 10s in the back.
02:01Then in the doors, I have 2 10s, 8 tweeters, and 1 horn, each door.
02:07And then in the A-pillars, it's speakers.
02:11It's tweeters in the A-pillars.
02:13Hey, DS18.
02:14The highest dBs I got in this truck was maybe a 162.8.
02:22That was outlawed and sealed.
02:25The highest I got was like a 160.6.
02:33These are Ghosters.
02:35Got the Ghosted Joker in here.
02:37Custom Joker license plate.
02:39Over here is more Amps with the Harley Quinn.
02:42And what else I got?
02:44And of course, you see me on here with the little sticker.
02:48I got the little chrome piece that say, ha, ha, ha.
02:52I got this truck on my birthday probably four years ago.
02:57It was just a plain truck.
02:58It was like a dark blue.
02:59It didn't have nothing on it.
03:00It was just clean.
03:01Right here, I have 30-inch rims, Star Judge.
03:06In here, I have the wheel lights.
03:08I have digital LED creation lights.
03:13Down here, I have a plate cut out that says Infiniti Tahoe.
03:17It lights up.
03:18That's all I got.
03:20Oh, the hood.
03:22It's got a Joker face on the hood.
03:25The engine is just a 5.3 V8.
03:28I put an air intake on it to make it faster.
03:33It ain't no race car or nothing.
03:35But hey, what you pull up inside it, I think I can get you.
03:43It took three and a half months to do the audio build.
03:47It took the guy a year to do my paint.
03:54I've had a passion for cars mostly all my life
04:00because my dad did car shows when I was little.
04:03That's what really made me want to be in the car scene as I got older.
04:08I use this truck mainly to go and do the shows.
04:13This helps me deal with the death of my dad.
04:15My dad passed away three and a half years ago.
04:18When I go to the shows and I win, it does something to me.
04:21It messes me up.
04:23When I leave, after I get my trophies, I ride in the truck by myself
04:28and play my music.
04:30I shed a tear because I feel like my dad watching me.
04:41Every weekend I do shows.
04:44It might be two to three shows every weekend.
04:47I've got 169 trophies now.
04:49The last show that I just went to last week, I ended up winning nine trophies.
04:57When I go to shows and people hear me turn the truck on,
05:01shoot, they get to dancing.
05:11They come over there with cameras or they come over there with their phones.
05:15They talk to me and they enjoy my truck.
05:18The kids, they love it.
05:20But when they sit in the inside, the first thing they do is grab their ears.
05:23No, don't grab your ears.
05:25What you need to do is learn how to control your breathing
05:28because the bass will pull your breath.
05:31And I tell them, hold on to your hat because it's a bass.
05:34It blows your hair.
05:36It makes towels float.
05:38It makes bags float.
05:39It'll knock their glasses off.
05:41And they love it.
05:42Like, they love it.
05:49I focus on audio because I like to please the crowd.
05:53I like to get the crowd moving.
05:55I like to see the kids dancing around, even the old people, you know.
06:05When it gets dark, this truck really comes to life.
06:12It probably look like a big disco ball.
06:14You might think it's actually Christmas.
06:18I have roughly probably like 60,000 in this truck.
06:22Too much.
06:25I think I would consider selling the truck.
06:28If the right money come along, I'll let it go.
06:31Even though I put a lot of hard work into it, I'll sell it and do something bigger.
06:36I would have to do something to top it.
06:38Hey, I don't know how much the right money is.
06:41What you have to do is come to me and say,
06:43look, I want to get this truck.
06:45Bring it back and just dump the money on the hood
06:48and then we can go from there.
06:49Bring me the money.
06:50Then we can talk.
