01:17And I said, gee, wouldn't it be cool if I had a hero who could stick to walls like an

01:25Insect-Man?
01:26That didn't sound dramatic.
01:27Mosquito-Man?
01:28I went down the list, and when I got to Spider-Man, Spider-Man, oh, that sounded dramatic.
01:36He said, first of all, people hate spiders, you can't call a hero Spider-Man.
01:43Secondly, he said, he can't be a teenager, teenagers are only sidekicks.
01:49And finally, he can't have personal problems, don't you know what a superhero is?
01:59She gave me the world's greatest advice.
02:02She said, why don't you do one book the way you'd want to do it?
02:07The worst that'll happen, he'll fire you, but you want to quit anyway.
02:12At least you'll have gotten it out of your system.
02:19Because he was shy, he wasn't that successful with girls, he had to worry about his family.
02:26I think most teenagers reading it thought to themselves, hey, that could be me.
02:31You could be any kid.
02:34You could be black, you could be Asian, you could be Indian, you could be anything.
02:39And imagine you were in that costume.
02:51My wife and I are really so close, and yet I'm not sure if she's ever read a story I wrote.
02:59She's totally not into comics at all.
03:02She's the perfect wife for me.
03:10If not for Joanie, I'd be outside saying, hey, you got a nickel?
03:18I didn't realize the whole world was worried about whether I was in the hospital or not.
03:24It was fine.
03:25It made me feel good, refreshed.
03:28Now I'm home and looking for no trouble yet.

03:33He was such a good friend to me, and I was such a big fan of his and his work, I'll never
03:38be forgotten.
03:39And every day when we make these films, there's a moment where everyone thinks about Stan.

03:43You know, just so full of life and just so kind and gregarious, and just made me feel
03:49right at home.
