00:00Quincy Jones, one of the most powerful forces in American popular music for more than half
00:05a century, died on Sunday in California at the age of 91.
00:09His publicist Arnold Robinson informed the Associated Press about the death, stating
00:14that he died on Sunday night in his home at the Bel Air section of the Los Angeles.
00:21A statement released by the family read,
00:23Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we must share the news of our father and brother Quincy
00:28Jones passing, and although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great
00:33life that he lived and know there will never be another like him.
00:38Throughout an extraordinary career that lasted over 60 years, Jones created Michael Jackson's
00:43top-selling albums, including Off the Wall, Thriller, and Bad.
00:49As soon as the news of this demise came out, actor and playwright Jeremy O. Harris took
00:54to his Twitter to highlight Jones' history-making life.
