00:00A sinkhole that appeared near Leeds City Centre on Monday 28th October has reportedly deepened
00:08amid complaints that immediate action is needed. Demolition worker Thomas Crompton has said
00:13he's really disappointed by the lack of communication from Leeds City Council after one of his company
00:18wagons became stuck in the sinkhole. Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post, he said a member
00:22of his staff had to leave one of their 32-tonne wagons after a wheel became lodged in the
00:28sinkhole. Leeds City Council said that for the safety of all road users, the affected
00:32section of the road on Water Lane remains closed to traffic and pedestrians, with a
00:37short diversion route established along Sweet Street and Bath Lane. Their highways team
00:42is currently investigating the cause of the void with other asset owners, including Yorkshire
00:47Water, and exploring possible solutions to address the issue. They've said they understand
00:53the inconvenience this may cause and are working diligently to resolve the situation as quickly
00:58as possible.
