00:00No symptoms, no warnings, nothing.
00:02All I had was a pain in my shoulder and a bit of a pain in my ribs.
00:06You know, I'm 48 years of age now, still lifting weights in the gym,
00:10still exercising hard, just thought it was aches and pains.
00:16But this ache and pain didn't go away.
00:18And eventually I was suggested go for a scan.
00:21I assumed it was going to be tendinitis or something, you know,
00:25and it was just going to be lay off weights or lay off cycling for a wee while
00:29and get some treatment and I'll be fine.
00:31When the scan result came back, it was a tumour.
00:35And it was the biggest shock of my life.
00:39I remember the feeling of just absolute horror and shock.
00:42And from then, you know, appointments and different,
00:46seeing different doctors in different hospitals.
00:48You were in this world where you felt like you were just existing,
00:51you weren't living, it was just like a, it was like a living nightmare.
00:55Never forget the words, you know, it's incurable, but it's manageable.
