00:00This was the scene recently on Neptune Beach in Florida.
00:03However, what you're seeing are not little bits of seaweed littering the sand,
00:07but rather tons of little bits of marijuana that have washed ashore.
00:10According to Neptune Beach Police, the cannabis rolled in with the tide on Saturday,
00:15with officers speculating that the marijuana was part of a larger parcel that broke open at sea,
00:20eventually making its way to the popular seaside spot.
00:23And shortly after its discovery, the department took to Facebook
00:26to warn people against taking any of the booty for personal use,
00:29writing,
00:30Before anyone starts thinking about coming out and turning this discovery into your own treasure hunt,
00:34we would advise against it.
00:36They added that's because it's been in contact with ocean water
00:39and would likely have degraded at this point,
00:41meaning at best it likely wouldn't be any good,
00:43and at worst it could be unsafe.
00:44Eyewitnesses who saw the haul told local news WJXT
00:48if gathered up it would likely have weighed upwards of 10 pounds.
00:51Officers and members of the Public Works team
00:53have now removed the marijuana from the Neptune Beach.
