THE ULTIMATE overland camper has brought the world’s most comfortable off-road experience to life. Mike Hallmark oversaw the creation of the ‘Hellwig Rule Breaker’ - a 2016 Nissan Titan fitted with a 2017 Lance 650 camper, resulting in what Mike calls a “ridiculously limitless and over-the-top adventure-mobile”. Mike and his team at Hellwig Suspension Products came up with their unique design for the 2016 SEMA car show. The company’s Big Wig airbags in the vehicle’s wheel wells allow this one of a kind souped-up pickup to ride level with maximum comfort while navigating any terrain. Mike said: ”When you think of a camper you think of a white truck and a white camper, with a white-haired dude driving it at 45 miles-per-hour. We wanted to go the complete opposite, so we did a yellow truck, black camper with some graphics on it to really catch your eye and make a splash in the market.” The addition of the Hellwig rear sway bar provides enhanced control while carrying the camper, which features a full audio system, TV, fridge, bed, full-size wet bath, and living area. To accommodate all the added weight, Mike and his team also added Falken Wildpeak AT3W LT 325/65R18 tyres, which beefed-up the truck’s on and off-road handling capabilities. Mounted on the front bumper are Baja design lights, fog lights, projection lights, and a full light bar that allows the driver visibility while traveling at night or off-roading. The whole thing is powered by a Cummins 5.0L V8 turbo diesel engine.

00:00Ridiculously limitless and over-the-top.
00:04It's an adventure mobile.
00:07We call this the ultimate pickup.
00:31I'm Mike Hallmark. I'm the Marketing and International Sales Manager for Hellwig Suspension Products.
00:36Behind me is what we dub the Hellwig Rule Breaker.
00:40It's a 2016 Nissan Titan with a 2017 Lance 650 Camper on the back.
00:46We were trying to come up with a new idea for SEMA, which is basically the world's biggest car show in Las Vegas.
00:54And we wanted something that would showcase our products, but do it in a different way.
01:01We specialize in load and sway controls.
01:04That's airbags, helper springs, and sway bars.
01:06Typically, our number one client or customer is going to be somebody that's towing and hauling,
01:11somebody that has a sliding camper like the truck behind me.
01:21When you think of a truck and a camper, you think of a white truck with a white camper,
01:27but the white-haired dude driving it at 45 miles an hour.
01:29So we wanted to go the complete opposite.
01:31So we did a yellow truck, black camper with some graphics on it, method wheels with Falcon tires.
01:36This is Icon Vehicle Dynamic Suspension.
01:39Softer for on-road, heavier for off-road.
01:42Next, we have a FabFours bumper that we modified for our worn winch.
01:46And then our rear sway bar that helps to manage the altered center of gravity on this thing
01:51and keep it safe going down the road and here off-road.
01:54Here is our bathroom area.
01:57Stepping out immediately to the left, we've got your sink.
02:00We've got a two-burner range.
02:02We've got the fridge right here.
02:04Any food you need, beer, beverages, you're good to go.
02:07Cool feature is the TV.
02:10Have it locked in place and watch it laying in bed.
02:13Full audio system here and outdoor speakers when you're lounging,
02:17hanging out on your hammock, or kicking underneath the awning.
02:21The way it drives now compared to factory, even with the camper off, is completely night and day.
02:27As far as going down the highway, it's much more planted.
02:30It has a slightly wider stance.
02:31It definitely has more surface area of tire.
02:33It doesn't feel like you're driving a truck at all.
02:35It feels like you're just driving a sedan that's higher off the ground.
02:38We wanted to see what it would do, so we took it up and down some hills.
02:43Got some three-wheel motion going, got the front left wheel off, got the front right wheel off.
02:47No hiccups, no issues.
02:48This thing's been amazing for us.
02:56We built this truck for the 2016 SEMA show in Las Vegas.
02:59Definitely had people that came over saying,
03:01what are you doing?
03:02It's absolutely ridiculous.
03:03Who does that?
03:04And one guy actually said to me, but it got me over here.
03:10Well, I've stayed in this thing up to three weeks at a time.
03:12I've actually left Quality Name Brand Hotels, the comfort of their bed, to go sleep in the camper.
03:18It's been a great truck.
03:19We've camped all over.
03:20We've taken it to the bottom of the Grand Canyon a couple of times.
03:22We've been to Overland Rallies.
03:23It's been to Baja Mexico twice.
03:25It's toured pretty much the whole western United States.
03:27I've camped in it in legit camp spots.
03:31I've camped out in the parking lot of music venues.
03:35I could sit here all day with a camper.
03:37It's been great.
03:38Call me an outdoorsy guy, but I like going out and living outdoors.
03:42Fire up the grill.
03:43We'll serve some brats and give out some beer.
