00:00The Department of Health's Newborn Screening has proven that every child in the country is healthy

00:12through early detection of Congenital Metabolic Disorder and immediate delivery of treatments for it.

00:21This is one of the goals of the TMA Kapuso Foundation,

00:26which provided free newborn screening in Tayaba, Quezon, where 66 babies were tested.

00:37This is the old Balikbayan box that will serve as a crib for the next one month.

00:45And because the baby is a minor, we will name him Jam.

00:51Because the family got together early at the age of 17,

00:55one of the things Jam couldn't prepare was the baby's equipment.

01:00He also didn't have any expenses for the newborn screening of the baby.

01:05It's a good thing that just one day after he was born in their house,

01:11the Newborn Screening Caravan, the TMA Kapuso Foundation,

01:17and the Department of Health, Calabar Zone, conducted a newborn screening in Tayaba, Quezon on October 17.

01:2566 babies were tested, including Jam's baby.

01:31I thought of things that a child needs. That's why I did the newborn screening.

01:39The purpose of this caravan is to bring services closer to people like ma'am who are having a hard time availing.

01:48It's very important.

01:49So that when they see that there are findings in their newborn screening,

01:55an intervention can be carried out before the disease spreads.

02:02We also provided diapers, hygiene and newborn kits,

02:06baby swaddles, electric kettles, kitchenware, and food.

02:11And Jam's return box, we were able to replace it.

02:16Because it was included in the 8 received creams.

02:20On November 8, Friday, at Dr. Santiago Lacdao Memorial Health Center, Barangay 1, Lipa City,

02:28we will conduct a free newborn screening from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
