Transcript
00:00So, tell us how you found coming here today to meet all the kids?
00:15Yeah, I loved it. You know, it was really good to meet everyone and all the Walsall
00:19fans and all the kids who are going to be coming to the game this weekend. I think it's
00:21good to have that connection with them. So, you know, yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing
00:26them all this weekend.
00:27Yeah, Jamie, like Tommy said, there's a lot of Walsall fans here. So, how is it meeting
00:30all those, obviously, senior goals on the screen as well?
00:33Yeah, I mean, when we walked in, I think you could see sort of their faces and how much
00:36it sort of means to them. And that's sort of what it's about, giving back to sort of
00:39the community and the kids. And hopefully, sort of, some of the kids that haven't been
00:43before, it sort of attracts them and makes them sort of want to come to the game on Saturday
00:48and hopefully for more games in the future.
00:50And obviously, this weekend is sort of all about inspiring through the School Partners
00:54initiative, the next generation of fans. How important is that for you to, obviously, getting
00:59the kids involved, coming down to the local club and everything like that?
01:02Yeah, I think it's really good. I think when I was younger, I probably wish I'd had that
01:06when, you know, because Walsall's a big area, I think, with the stadium we've got, I think
01:10we can fill it. So, I think if you get the word out there that, hopefully, the team are
01:14doing and how good of a club it is, I think we'll get there, yeah.
01:17What about you, Jamie, thinking of the atmosphere on Saturday?
01:19Yeah, I think it's a massive thing that us players and things like that, we have to
01:24make sure that we come down and do these sorts of things and sort of build that bond
01:28and relationship with, sort of, the kids here today and sort of just build that relationship
01:33with the community and, hopefully, sort of bring more people through the door. I think
01:37the main thing is just building that sort of relationship around the area and just attract
01:42as many people as we can.
