00:00The last time that Indiana started a football season 9 and 0.
00:07Here is the answer.
00:08You were nowhere because it's never happened.
00:10For the first time in 137 seasons of this Hoosiers football program in Bloomington,
00:16Kurt Cignetti has led Indiana to a perfect 9 and 0 start.
00:21Indiana one of five remaining undefeated teams at the FBS level around the country and not
00:26only is Indiana 9 and 0, they have won all nine games by at least two touchdowns and
00:32are covering in eight of the nine.
00:35And Joe Lisi, for the first time since 1968, when you were just a young pup, Indiana is
00:41favored to beat Michigan in a football game.
00:44That was unkind of me, but we have to have a little fun.
00:47Not only is Indiana favored to beat Michigan for the first time since 1968, it's not just
00:52a point or a field goal or even a touchdown, it is a 14 and a half point spread in favor
00:59of the Hoosiers.
01:00Joe, will it be a comfortable ride for Indiana today against the reigning national champs?
01:05I don't think so.
01:06This could be a smash play for me in terms of Michigan.
01:10I really like...
01:11Michigan?
01:12Yeah, Michigan.
01:13Just Michigan.
01:14Well, not me.
01:15Me?
01:16Sure, and we're not to that point.
01:17We're not there yet.
01:18We're not there yet.
01:19Let me just say this.
01:20All the credit to Kirk Cignetti for blowing through the five and a half win total, for
01:23making them one of the Cinderella teams of this year.
01:27There's a few of them, them and BYU, respectively.
01:29They're doing it from an offensive perspective.
01:32What a transition for Curtis Roark, coming from Ohio, to do a fantastic job.
01:37One of the best quarterbacks in the Big Ten.
01:39Back-to-back games, four touchdowns, no interceptions.
01:42You look at Indiana, they're averaging 284 through the air.
01:46They're $1.70 on the ground, physical, in terms of run support.
01:51But the series, when you just look at teams having the upper hand over a certain program,
01:56and I know every year is different, but the numbers suggest Michigan will be in this game
02:00for the 14 points.
02:02You look at it.
02:03They have won 27 of the last 28 meetings in the series.
02:08Last time that Indiana won outright was 2020 with Michael Pinnocks.
02:12That was also the year that Indiana knocked off Penn State and in Michigan, Michigan,
02:17in the same respective years.
02:19It's going to be difficult for me.
02:20I think Michigan could shorten the game, run the football with the Danger Man, Donovan
02:25Edwards and Mullings.
02:26I think somehow, someway, they're in the number.
02:29But all the testament to Kirk Cignetti, they've done a fantastic job.
02:33Indiana is an anomaly.
02:38We saw TCU a few years ago, right?
02:41People didn't really believe, and then they'd win the game, but you go, I'm telling you,
02:45it's not real.
02:46And it never came true.
02:48They lost that big 12 title game.
02:49But then obviously the national championship game is a mess.
02:53The comparisons to TCU are for BYU, not Indiana.
02:57They are a death machine, war machine, super laser.
03:02I don't come up with just crazy things.
03:04That's what they are.
03:05I actually think Michigan could win this game.
03:09And I'm so scared of Indiana.
03:10I'm not taking 14 and a half points.
03:13That's how scary they are.
03:15I've tried.
03:16I had a buddy who usually will text me for my picks on a Saturday.
03:21And I sent him my card, and he goes, I like everything but your Michigan State plus eight
03:26bet, right?
03:27We were getting.
03:28He goes, should we take Indiana?
03:29And I was like, are you an idiot?
03:31Like, did you just ask me for my picks and ask me to, like, what is wrong with you, right?
03:35They were up 10-0 Michigan State, and I was going to text him.
03:38I was like, I'll leave it alone.
03:39Like, who cares?
03:40And then ended up getting texts from him saying, I told you about Indiana, who went on a 47-0
03:47run.
03:48They're not squeaking games out.
03:50They're slaughtering everyone.
03:52And one of the reasons Indiana is a little bit more believable is Curtis O'Rourke, Curtis
03:56O'Rourke, who has played really good football in his college career, but not at this level.
04:02And sometimes we don't think that those guys are going to progress or make a wild comp
04:05for people.
04:06Dalton Connect is what Curtis O'Rourke reminds me of, where Dalton Connect was not supposed
04:11to show up to the SEC last year and be one of the five best players in college hoops.
04:15But guess what?
04:16He was, because he was really good when he was playing.
04:19You have to remind me where he played before he went.
04:21Northern Colorado.
04:22There you go.
04:23He was awesome.
04:24And it just translated.
04:25For Curtis O'Rourke, it's translated.
04:26And Cignetti's a monster.
04:27I'm playing Davis Warren passing because that, to me, is the safest angle somehow in this
04:31game, and I don't know how that's possible.
04:35I said this the other day, and I meant it.
04:37If you vote them one in the AP poll, I don't have a single problem with it.
04:41I really don't.
