00:00There are so many great things to do in gaming, and most of them come hand-in-hand with making
00:04the player feel like they've accomplished something.
00:07One particular highlight is the joy of unearthing a well-hidden secret in your favourite open
00:12world title.
00:13The same kind of feeling I get encountering my co-workers out in the wild, only the secret
00:18encounters don't run away from me and pretend I don't exist.
00:21But enough of me, I'm Ewan, this is Wild Culture Gaming, and here are 10 unique open
00:26world game secrets you need to find.
00:2910.
00:30The Lemoyne Counter Ghost Train – Red Dead Redemption 2
00:34Red Dead Redemption 2 is a game so massive and brimming with secrets that it could easily
00:39take up every space on this list.
00:42It can find all sorts of crazy stuff, from vampires to UFOs, robots, and even a man who's
00:49dressed up like the devil.
00:50But for this one, we're talking about ghost trains.
00:52Hell yeah, love me a good ghost train.
00:55The Lemoyne Counter Ghost Train is a truly mysterious secret you can find in the seminal
01:00Rockstar sequel.
01:01To uncover this eerie sight, you need to head to the northwest region of Lemoyne County
01:06and follow the train tracks until you reach the county's welcome sign.
01:10If you hang around until 3am, then mount your horse and ride around the tracks, you'll
01:14eventually see a haunting image as a spectral train appears.
01:19You can follow it along and gaze at its creepy beauty for a short time before it fizzles
01:24out.
01:25Now, the train doesn't always appear, so if the sun comes up, just camp out and try
01:29again the next day.
01:31You will eventually come face to face with the mysterious locomotive, and then you can
01:34tick it off your RDR2 Easter Egg Bucket List.
01:37Man, it's an actual tragedy that we never got an Undead Nightmare-themed DLC for this
01:42game.
01:439.
01:44Kukos Can Be Used As Weapons Legend of Zelda, Breath of the Wild, and Tears
01:48of the Kingdom.
01:49The phenomenal Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom take open-world gameplay to
01:54the next level, as they let you approach the game however you see fit.
01:57As such, there's an endless array of creative combat methods for taking down enemies, and
02:03this has to be one of the funniest.
02:05If you get your hands on a Kuko, take it with you to meet some enemies, and let those enemies
02:09get a hit on the little creature, then all hell will break loose.
02:13A collection of Kukos will flock to defend their brethren, and can deliver a surprising
02:19amount of damage.
02:20I mean, now that I think about it, if you look at these guys, look at those eyes.
02:24There is murder in there!
02:25This trick is effective against all sorts of enemies, ranging from Bokoblins all the
02:30way up to Hinoxes.
02:31Hell, some players even manage to beat Clamity Ganon with them, which is a pretty impressive
02:37feat.
02:388.
02:39The Super Mario Level, Dying Light Secret hidden levels in video games are a
02:42pure delight, especially when you find yourself transported to an entirely different game.
02:48In some cases, these unexpected homages feel appropriate, but then there's Dying Light,
02:53which can be bizarrely turned into a Super Mario game.
02:57Yahoo!
02:58If you're exploring the fictional city of Haran and head on over to Old Town, you can
03:02find an out-of-place green pipe inside a chimney.
03:06Go up to it and press F, for respects of course, and you'll find yourself transported to
03:10a World 1-1, inspired Mario level, inside this zombie game.
03:15This little easter egg comes complete with a running course designed to emulate the iconic
03:19first level of the original Super Mario Bros.
03:22It even has shrunken down zombie-style to look like Goombas, adding to the authenticity
03:27of the hidden level with some hilarious visuals.
03:307.
03:31The Black Cell Phone Cheat, Grand Theft Auto V
03:34Grand Theft Auto games have always had an affinity with cheat codes, and GTA V is no
03:40different.
03:41However, this specific cheat is so niche and obscure that it makes you wonder why it was
03:45even put there by Rockstar in the first place.
03:49You can use your cell phone in the game to call various numbers, with some giving you
03:53fun gifts like increased running speed, explosive melee attacks, or sporting an array of vehicles.
04:00But something truly bizarre happens if you dial this number.
04:041-999-367-3767.
04:05This will direct you to a caller named Black Cell Phones and will trigger an explosion
04:13over your head.
04:14Then, if you look back at your phone, you'll notice that it has changed to a pure black
04:19colour, with the phone's theme being converted to grey.
04:22It also enlarges the phone ever so slightly.
04:26This is one of GTA V's most weirdly mundane and yet also mysterious secrets.
04:31Hopefully it gets cracked eventually and this mystery can be solved.
04:366.
04:37Play Suzerainty with Kim, Disco Elysium
04:40Playing a video game is great, but you know what's even better?
04:44Playing another game inside that game.
04:46The Witcher has Gwent, AC Valhalla has Orlog, and the incomparable Chaos RPG Disco Elysium
04:54has Suzerainty.
04:55When investigating the open environment of Martinaise, you can stumble into a bookstore
05:00and purchase a board game called Suzerainty.
05:03This Catan-style, civilisation-building game isn't just a neat little item.
05:08It's a playable game that leads to an incredibly unique interaction with your co-investigator
05:14Kim Kitsuragi.
05:15In typical Disco Elysium fashion, it comes complete with excellent writing, great choices
05:19to make, and enjoyable twists aplenty.
05:225.
05:23Getting your hands on Excalibur, Assassin's Creed Valhalla
05:27The Assassin's Creed franchise is full of so many ups and downs, it's basically a
05:32very pointy, stabby rollercoaster.
05:35But many would agree that AC Valhalla is an enjoyable instalment with a stunning open
05:40world look at Anglo-Saxon-era England.
05:43To really sell that world is the inclusion of the legendary sword of King Arthur, which,
05:49yes, you can wheel.
05:50If you want to get your hands on this iconic weapon, then you can find it in Merden's
05:55Cave in Hampshire.
05:56Sounds a lot like Merlin.
05:57Good, I see what they did there.
05:59Oh, but don't think you can just stumble upon the legendary sword in the store and
06:02pick it up.
06:03It takes a metric ton of work to free this sword, as you've got to prove yourself worthy
06:08of it.
06:09You can do this by uncovering 11 mysterious tablets, most of which can be found in Treasures
06:14of Britain caves, with a few held by zealots found throughout the land.
06:18Once you've completed the big ol' task of gathering them all, you can return to the
06:22cave and grab Arthur Pendragon's iconic blade.
06:25It's a lot of work, but getting the epic endgame weapon is totally worth it.
06:304.
06:31The Of Derry and Darkness quest, The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt
06:36If you're lactose intolerant, then look away now and close your ears for your own
06:40good.
06:41They're gonna be milking this one for all it's worth.
06:43You can discover this quest in The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt by stumbling upon Aramis' abandoned
06:48manor in Oxenfurt, or purchasing the Lizard Figurine in the Gildorf Shopping District
06:54of Novigrad.
06:55Either way, you'll need to do both, so be sure to note them down.
06:59If you take the item and use it on a magic circle in the building, then you'll be transported
07:04to Aramis' secret laboratory, where some surprises await.
07:08In this strange place, you'll learn that Aramis was a Tyramancer, i.e. a magic user
07:13who specialises in the use of cheese.
07:17Awesome!
07:18As you explore this maze-like area, you'll find toxic cheese gases and statues of figures
07:25holding delicious pieces of fromage.
07:29The quest itself isn't that interesting, but the hilarious existence of cheese wizards
07:34is enough to make it worth finding.
07:36Can someone please mod Wallace and Gromit into the quest to make it even better?
07:413.
07:42Over the Edge Cyberpunk 2077
07:45Night City doesn't just come complete with skyscrapers and crime.
07:49It also fills its streets with awesome easter eggs.
07:52Do you want to see Hideo Kojima at a hotel bar?
07:55He's there!
07:56How about Kaneda's bike from Akira?
07:58You can find that too.
08:00There are also plenty of allusions to the Cyberpunk Edrenas anime, and this side job
08:05is the peak of them.
08:06If you head to Mega Building H4 in the Santo Domingo District, you'll find some familiar
08:11if you've seen the anime, green graffiti to the entrance and a braindance recording
08:16in a trash can next to it.
08:18Give that beady a watch and you'll be shown the anime's opening scene and warned not
08:22to end up like David Martinez, the anime's protagonist.
08:26This leads you to ask more about Martinez and eventually be put in contact with Falco,
08:31a character from the show.
08:33He discusses his past and compares V to David, before telling you to go pick up a package.
08:38Once you do this, you'll get your hands on David's iconic EMT jacket, letting you
08:42dress as your favourite cyberpunk anime hero.
08:452.
08:46The Hidden Identity of the Headless Horseman
08:48The Elder Scrolls V, Skyrim.
08:51Tamriel, and by extension Skyrim, is a land of many mysteries and secrets.
08:56One of the most bizarre of these is the appearance of a dreaded spectre, the Headless Horseman.
09:01If you're wandering the lands of Skyrim any time between 10 and 4, there's a chance
09:05you'll stumble upon a ghostly Headless Rider.
09:08This bizarre figure, who sports a full steel plate armour set, minus the helmet of course
09:13cause he's got no head, won't attack you, and you can't attack him.
09:18But if you follow him, he'll lead you to a Nordic ruin called Hambeer's Rest.
09:22There's no explanation for this character or quests attached to him, but some have theorised
09:27that the popular song Ragnar the Red holds the key to his identity.
09:32Ask any bard to sing the ballad and you'll hear references to Ragnar's riding patterns
09:37and his being beheaded, which many have linked to the Horseman.
09:411.
09:42The Surprising Benefits of the Water Pistol
09:45Metal Gear Solid V, The Phantom Pain.
09:47A water pistol?
09:48Really?
09:49What good will that do in the world of guns, war tech and supernatural powers that is the
09:54Metal Gear Solid series?
09:56The water pistol in Metal Gear Solid V seems to be a joke at first.
10:00However, thoughtful players can put it to good use, with it being particularly helpful
10:04during a certain fiery boss fight.
10:07Battling the Man on Fire in Mission 20 is tough, but easy if you know what to do.
10:12While planting C4 on the water tanker and dousing him will finish things up in a jiffy,
10:17you can also do some surprising damage by getting him with the water gun.
10:21It'll take many, many shots to put him finally out of commission, but seeing this powerful
10:25villain squirm as you attack him with a toy is hilarious.
10:28There's also plenty more to do with the gun, as you can use it to hold enemies up,
10:33damage electrical equipment, cause people to slip and have tasteful water pistol fights
10:38with Quiet.
10:39I may have made that last one up, but let's just agree to headcanon it, okay?
10:43And those were 10 Unique Open World Game Secrets You Need To Find.
10:47Are there any out there you're particularly fond of?
10:49Let us know in the comments below and hey, we may revisit it for a future list if there's
10:53anything new.
10:54Either way, be sure to drop us a like if you enjoyed the video and stick around too by
10:57subscribing.
10:58That's all for now though, I've been Ewan, thank you for watching Wild Culture Gaming
