00:00The impressive victory of Donald Trump in the US 2024 elections continues to grow.
00:10He not just won all the swing states, but is ahead in the popular vote, the Senate and
00:16probably the House of Representatives.
00:19This might very well be the moment where Republicans have a super maturity where they can easily
00:24slide through their policies on immigration, gun access, health and housing.
00:30On the other hand, Vice President Kamala Harris conceded this election at the Harvard University,
00:35assuring a peaceful transfer of power.
00:39Let's speak to the Indian diaspora living here in the US and understand their emotion
00:42after this historic election.
00:44Are you happy with the election results?
00:46Yeah, I'm very happy because you know, we have no other option besides Trump, since
00:50you know, he told us that he's going to stop the war in Ukraine and Palestine and what's
00:55going on all over the world.
00:57So I think he's the best option.
00:59Plus, you know, last four years, Biden and Kamala Harris, you know, they didn't do any
01:04good job.
01:05I mean, a lot of US citizens don't have jobs, you know, and the taxes are high.
01:12People are coming to the US without, you know, visas.
01:15So I think that Trump is the best option for all of us.
01:18He's going to stop the war.
01:19He's going to decrease the taxes.
01:22I think he's the best option.
01:24And what do you expect from the four years of Trump administration?
01:26Yeah, the first thing he has to stop the wars because what he's promised, I mean, I voted
01:31for him just because only that, you know, I was a Democrat, but he changed my mind to
01:36become a Republican.
01:38Just he said he's going to stop the war and the stop has to war all over the world because
01:42a lot of people are dying in Ukraine and in Palestine, you know, so that's the main reason
01:47and I voted for him.
01:49Are you happy with the election results?
01:51Yes, I'm happy.
01:53I'm happy with, yes, yes, I'm happy with Trump winning the elections.
01:59I'm good with it.
02:00Are you happy with the election results?
02:02Yes, I think, I think so, yeah, in my family, we had like two groups of people, me and my
02:07father, like we were like more supporting like Republicans more and like my wife was
02:14like leaning more towards the Democrats, so yeah.
02:17But yeah, like I'm happy that, you know, that it turned out my way.
02:21And what do you expect from four years of Trump presidency?
02:24No, I think a lot of logical decisions that and firstly, one takeaway and that I'm looking
02:30forward to is that, like if Trump can help stop illegal immigration, so even though there's
02:36a percentage that it might, having Trump in power might have an impact on the Indian diaspora
02:43over there, but I feel otherwise that if he can help stop the illegal immigration,
02:48in some way or the other, it will help Indian people like finding more jobs, because then
02:52we might not face a lot of competition from the people who are entering the country illegally.
02:57So like, you know, really looking forward to that aspect of the Trump administration.
03:02Yeah, I'm okay.
03:03Like, there's nothing to be happy or unhappy about the wars that are going on that can
03:08end that is as a good result.
03:10And then US as a superpower can play a lot of a lot of constructive thing in building
03:17the world peace, right?
03:18So if there's nothing that is done in that direction, that will be helpful for the entire
03:23world.
03:24Yeah, and then on the climate change and such things, these policies have been like, not
03:31supportive of that, but that's a reality we face day to day.
03:35So something that can happen in that direction, that will be good.
03:44I do not know if I should say happy or sad, but there is a lot of uncertainty because
03:49of President Trump's America First policy.
03:53So things are not really clear.
