00:00Three, two, one.
00:14The modern and rigid public transportation
00:17is the main element that ensures the progress of a country.
00:21A good transportation system
00:24not only gives ease to the people
00:27but also contributes to the economic smoothness,
00:30reduces traffic congestion
00:33and ensures social well-being.
00:36The government is always committed and gives pressure
00:39to ensure that the quality of public transportation infrastructure
00:43is always in good condition.
00:46We will continue to strive to improve and improve
00:49public transportation services in Malaysia
00:52through various initiatives
00:54so that it is equal to developed countries.
00:57The mutual relationship of public transportation
01:01is very important in facilitating the movement of the people.
01:05With the rail network and the Rapid Bus KL
01:11we can see how public transportation
01:14allows us to move to our respective destinations
01:18more smoothly, safely and quickly.
01:21This is not only easy for the residents of Kuala Lumpur
01:24and its surrounding areas
01:26but also supports local economic growth.
01:30This year, Rapid KL has reached the age of 20 years.
01:34For the past two decades, Rapid KL has played a major role
01:38in transforming the public transportation system in Kuala Lumpur
01:43from just a normal transportation system
01:46to a modern network of transportation
01:48that serves as the backbone of urban mobility.
01:51This transformation not only improves the convenience
01:55and health of the users
01:57but also provides jobs for the local children.
02:00This directly contributes to the country's economic development
02:04especially in the transportation and domestic tourism sectors.
02:09Ladies and Gentlemen,
02:13On the occasion of Malaysia's 26th anniversary
02:17and as the host of Asia's 2025 Asian Summit
02:23I understand that Rapid KL will host a special tourist pass
02:28which is the MyTourist Pass
02:31which is specifically designed to provide benefits to tourists
02:34from both domestic and foreign countries.
02:37This is a wise step
02:40in supporting the development of the tourism industry.
02:43The tourism industry is one of the main contributors to the country's development
02:48and such efforts can attract more tourists to come to Malaysia
02:54while also strengthening our tourism sector.
02:58It is hoped that this initiative can increase the number of foreign tourists
03:03while also supporting government efforts
03:06to improve the tourism sector.
03:11On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Rapid KL
03:15the Prime Minister has launched the MyTourist Pass.
03:21This pass is specifically designed for tourists from both domestic and foreign countries.
03:25We have found that many Malaysians
03:30when they come to Kuala Lumpur
03:32they use public transport to travel.
03:38This initiative aims to encourage more people to use public transport
03:46while they are in the city.
03:48The MyTourist Pass costs RM20 for one day,
03:52RM30 for two days, and RM40 for three days
03:55for Malaysian citizens.
03:57For foreigners, it is double.
03:59RM40, RM50, and RM60 for one, two, or three days.
04:05The advantage of the MyTourist Pass is that there is also strategic cooperation
04:10with more than 30 other companies
04:12including restaurants, restaurants and shops that are often visited by tourists.
04:21So with the MyTourist Pass,
04:23in addition to free travel,
04:25they can also get discounts in shops that have strategic cooperation with Rapid KL.
04:32So this is another good initiative that I encourage Rapid KL.
04:39We hope that this can facilitate more tourists in Kuala Lumpur.
04:47In addition, I have also asked the government
04:51to implement the open payment system.
04:54As we have said before,
04:56the plan has already been made
04:59and we will be able to implement it soon.
05:03It is to facilitate tourists and visitors from outside Kuala Lumpur
05:09when they come to KL to use our public transport,
05:13with whatever payment mode they can use our transport.
05:18Is there a timeline?
05:20The timeline requires at least 12 months for integration
05:26because it involves all stations.
05:29Because we have more than 100 stations throughout KL.
05:34So of course there is a lot of hardware installation that is needed in all stations.
05:41So I understand that the tender has not been awarded yet.
05:44The decision will be made soon.
05:49Can you elaborate on the integration with eWallet and My50+.
05:55When will it be announced?
05:57It has already been announced in terms of the policy.
06:00But of course it will take some time to do the backend integration.
06:03The integration of course with Touch & Go Digital.
06:08Because Touch & Go Digital of course with eWallet.
06:12What we need to do is to make sure that everyone who is subscribing to My50.
06:19They are Malaysians.
06:20Because the reason why we can integrate with Touch & Go eWallet
06:24is that firstly any users of Touch & Go eWallet
06:27they definitely have the eKYC.
06:29So they know the person with their identification and so on.
06:33So I think that is the easiest integration with Touch & Go.
06:37And we are working on it.
06:38I hope that within the next three to four months
06:40that it can be completed in terms of the integration work.
06:43This will definitely help more than 200,000 people
06:47who are currently My50 subscribers.
06:49Because every month they have to renew over-the-counter.
06:52So with this, it's just a click in their smartphone.
06:55They can just renew.
06:56Make the payment and then the pass will continue to be used.
07:00What are the options for using MyCard with Touch & Go?
07:05Right now we are using MyCard.
07:09So of course we want to switch to this digital eWallet.
07:14So when this digital eWallet, it reduces the dependence on the counter.
07:18So for the time being, of course we will give more options, more choices.
07:22But if we can switch to most people,
07:25of course we don't need to use MyCard.
07:27So tomorrow we only need to use eWallet.
07:30Because eWallet already has its identity.
07:34What is important is that we want to make sure
07:36that My50 users are Malaysian citizens.
07:40Why do we have to do that?
07:42Because every My50 customer is subsidized by the government.
07:47The government subsidizes every customer by RM100 per month.
07:51So in one year, they get RM1,200 subsidy from the government.
07:55So if we give it to foreigners,
07:58of course this is a breach in terms of subsidy.
08:02That's why we need to make sure that the recipient is a Malaysian citizen.
08:06Before this, we didn't have a choice.
08:08When we launched this in 2019,
08:11we wanted to do it as soon as possible.
08:13Because the integration of this system takes time.
08:16So at that time, we didn't have a choice other than to use MyCard.
08:20So at that time, I knew that many people reacted that it might be difficult.
08:27But we didn't have a choice at that time.
08:30And we know that many people depend on this initiative.
08:34Because even though they might have some difficulties in terms of renewing every month,
08:41but still many people use My50.
08:45And I hope that what they are doing now,
08:50what they are going through now,
08:53we can overcome when the integration is ready.
08:57So after this, users will use eWallet to touch the system?
09:02Not with their Dash & Go card?
09:04Yes, they will use QR code.
09:06They will use QR code.
09:12Or they can use their Dash & Go card.
09:19In terms of verification, we are implementing it.
09:23So maybe there are different modes that will be provided.
09:26But in general,
09:28first, they can use their own Dash & Go card,
09:31or use QR code through Dash & Go eWallet.
09:35So that is one of the things that we are implementing now.
09:39What users don't want,
09:41is that they have to use MyCard every day.
09:43That is what is being practiced now.
09:45They have to use MyCard to touch and enter the station.
09:50So that is what users don't like.
09:52Because they are afraid to lose their MyCard.
09:56So that has been implemented for 5 years.
09:59So now we feel that it is time for us to improve for our users.
