00:00In Dallas, we see the Cowboys and the Eagles and oddly as usual, one of either Dak or Hertz
00:12not out there.
00:14For division rivals, these two have hardly played against one another.
00:17I think last year was the first time they each were out there for both of the games
00:23between Philadelphia and Dallas, if memory is serving correctly there.
00:28It's just an odd thing that's been going on again for a few seasons and it's here again.
00:35So now the Philadelphia Eagles, instead of what would have probably been short road favorites,
00:41minus one and a half, maybe game even pick, the Philadelphia Eagles are a seven and a
00:46half point favorite against Cooper Rush.
00:50It makes for a tricky game here, DRS, because Cooper Rush has pulled off some upsets for
00:55the Dallas Cowboys.
00:56Could he do it again today?
00:57No, I don't think he does it again today, but I do think it's going to be competitive.
01:00If you say right now, what's the best way that you think this game is going to go?
01:04The chances for the Eagles to have a blowout victory means double digits or more, which
01:07is a possibility.
01:08Or will this game be finishing under the seven and a half?
01:10To me, it's probably going to be more likely a close game.
01:12Cooper Rush isn't a guy that's just going to step in as a rookie, like remember Ben
01:15DiNucci started against the Philadelphia Eagles.
01:17I remember quite fondly, he was absolutely abysmal in that game.
01:20You're not going to get that out of Rush.
01:21He'll be competent.
01:22He's got weapons out there and that can happen.
01:23But having said that, there's a dead team walking here and that's the Dallas Cowboys
01:27where the Philadelphia Eagles again have that tough game.
01:28We talked about Washington coming up on Thursday night.
01:31I don't think it's a look ahead situation.
01:32It's the Cowboys and it's the Eagles, two hated rivalries.
01:35But here's the problem I have, Joe, with the Philadelphia Eagles.
01:38If they come into this game healthy, which apparently they are, this should be an easy
01:41victory for them.
01:43But you have Devonta Smith, wide receiver, struggling with a hamstring injury.
01:47Last week, you know who left the game?
01:48A.J.
01:49Brown with the injury.
01:50Did practice this week.
01:51Dallas got her coming off a hamstring injury, getting back in the lineup.
01:53And, oh yeah, your quarterback, leaked out by your head coach this week, has an ankle
01:57injury.
01:58Joe, when I look at the top guys in the lineup for the Eagles, yes, if they're healthy, yes,
02:02they should win easy.
02:04But it's one of those games where I don't know if I can even bet profits outside of
02:07one guy I'll tell you about later here.
02:09I like Dallas with the points here.
02:10Divisional matchup.
02:11I think it's a lower scoring game.
02:14Dallas hasn't won a game at home all year long.
02:17That's it.
02:18It could be a smash job.
02:20This is good.
02:21Here's the thing.
02:22I like Prescott and C.D. Lamb in terms of lighting it up right now.
02:25Here comes a backup quarterback, a veteran in terms of Cooper Rush.
02:28We saw Rico Doudle rush for over 70 yards against the Atlanta Falcons.
02:33I think he'll have a heavier part along with the other running backs to take the pressure
02:37off of Rush, especially in keeping him in short and minimal third down type of situations.
02:43I like Jalen Tolbert over the 27 and a half.
02:45I think he can get to 50 or 60.
02:48But give me Dallas.
02:49We saw the same thing.
02:50New Orleans and Carolina.
02:52Similar spread, right?
02:53Home dog in terms of this situation with a divisional matchup.
02:56Give me the points.
02:57But I'll lean to the younger 43 and a half.
02:59I thought that line opened earlier in the week at 41 and a half.
03:03It's up two points.
03:04I like the younger, but I'll take the points with Dallas.
03:07So when I initially looked at this game, I thought to myself, ah, the only way you could
03:11bet this is Dallas home division dog touchdown, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah.
03:15I look at what Cooper Rush was able to do back in 2022.
03:18He wins the first four games.
03:20He's covering.
03:22His final game was actually against Philadelphia was the only time he didn't score 20 points
03:25or the offense didn't score 20 in that game, and they ended up scoring 17.
03:30The I think reason why today people are probably still lining up to bet the Eagles in droves
03:35aside from the fact that they're the best team in football is the Dallas Cowboys this
03:39year are much worse than the teams Cooper Rush was filling in for prior both sides of
03:46the ball.
03:47For me, though, Joe, where the main disagreement comes in is I love the over in this game at
03:5143 and a half because I think Cooper Rush has shown, look, he is not replacing top five
03:57QB deck.
03:58He is replacing bottom 20 quarterback deck.
04:02It's what he's been this season.
04:03It just is.
04:04And CD lambs going to be out there giving it a go.
04:07That Philadelphia Eagles defense is playing really good.
04:10The refs again flipped it on its head and gave Jacksonville points they should have
04:13never had.
04:14But I think the Philadelphia Eagles, sometimes when you play that backup quarterback, you
04:19fall asleep.
04:20I'm still not entirely positive that the Georgia defense didn't fall asleep because they thought
04:24Dart was out of the game and then they never woke back up somehow against Ole Miss.
04:28So I don't know if the Eagles are going to have their best defensive effort of the season,
04:33but I still trust the Philadelphia offense because I still think the most under discussed
04:38thing is the Eagles with AJ Brown.
04:42What I just said, right, Don?
04:43I understand it gets a reaction out of you of me saying they're the best team in football.
04:47But with AJ, it's what they are.
04:50They're 5-0.
04:51Their score is 29.4 points per game.
04:53It was the second biggest margin of victory that game if you look at what everybody else
04:57has done this year.
04:59That is who the Eagles have been.
05:00And AJ, by the way, didn't play in the second half against Jacksonville here.
05:04Gets to go out there and give it a go today.
05:06I think there's countless paths to us getting points, points, points here at 43 and a half.
05:12And I'm with you on this.
05:13And again, I'm usually sometimes cautious at this point because they're supposed to
05:17all play today.
05:18And if they do, that's a bad Dallas defense.
05:21And we're also, the one guy we haven't brought up today is Saquon Barkley, who's an absolute
05:25runaway freight trainer against a team that's a sieve against the run with a very good offensive
05:29line that the Eagles have.
05:30If you're putting pressure on Dallas, I think that can work to your advantage.
05:33I just get a little bit leery because you're right about that.
05:35When AJ Brown does play and he's healthy, he's a destroyer out there.
05:38And if he is today, which he's supposed to be, that's great.
05:42I just understand how injuries work and you get injured one week there and I get a little
05:45bit nervous.
05:46I do think the Philadelphia Eagles win this football game.
05:48But again, if these guys are healthy and play today, the full four quarters, the Eagles
05:52will cover.
05:53I'm just not so sure about that.
