Ben Banks provides his Hearts verdict from the Jambos loss to Rangers.
Transcript
00:00Ben Banks here for the Edinburgh Evening News. Just after full time here at Ibrox, a 1-0
00:06defeat for Hearts at the home of the Light Blues. A spirited performance from Hearts,
00:11especially considering the exertions of Conference League football less than 72 hours prior against
00:17Heidenheim. An early serial deathers goal after six minutes was enough to seal the deal
00:22here for Rangers but they were not impressive at all, especially in the second half where
00:26Hearts grew into the game and can probably feel unfortunate not to get a point. Craig
00:31Gordon was left unhappy towards the end of the game as Hearts launched one final attack.
00:37A handball appeal was made, nothing was given, Matthew McDermott the referee blew for full
00:42time and it leaves Hearts second bottom in the league going into the international break.
00:47But despite the fact that the boss doesn't want Hearts to be known as nearly men this
00:51was a spirited performance and a much improved performance from recent displays by Hearts
00:57and a continued improvement under the new head coach. They return to action after the
01:01international break against Celtic where another relentless run of games kicks off for the
01:06Jambos.
