00:00So around 5 p.m. yesterday afternoon on the Sunday afternoon police were called
00:05to the Stewart's River Bridge on the Pacific Highway around 30 kilometres
00:09south of Kew where a man's body had been located. A crime scene was established
00:13and the scene was examined by forensic officers. The man is yet to be formally
00:18identified but believed to be a 39 year old man from Port Macquarie. An investigation is
00:23being undertaken into the man's death and his last known movements by officers
00:29from the Manigret Lakes Police District and a report will be prepared for the
00:33coroner. Police are asking for anyone who may have been travelling south on the
00:38Pacific Highway in that area around the Stewart's River area so south of Kew on
00:43Thursday evening to or if they have any dash cam footage of that time to contact
00:48police here at Tahrir Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
00:54The investigation will be ongoing by officers here from the Manigret Lakes
00:58Police District and as I said a report will be prepared for the coroner. Anybody who has any
01:03information who think that even if they think it may be connected not even on a
01:07Thursday afternoon or at any time I would urge them to contact Crime Stoppers or
01:13police here at Tahrir and report that information so we can follow that up.
01:18Thursday evening there was that was the evening that a large thunderstorm came
01:23through the area. So if that potentially might jog anybody's memory in relation to where they may have been on the highway at that time, the weather was reasonably clement at that hour of the evening.
