The 5th match of the 2014 CPL featured one of cricket’s most amazing bowling performances. Red Steel and Guyana were neck and neck, each scoring 118 runs. It was a tie, which meant only one thing: Super Over!
Guyana batted first, scoring 11, and set a target of 12. Red Steel handed the chase to Nicholas Pooran, but guess who was ready to defend? Sunil Narine, the mystery spinner himself.
With nerves of steel, Narine bowled an absolute masterclass. He spun the ball like magic, leaving Pooran completely out of answers. Four dots followed, and on the fifth ball, Pooran was caught!
But Narine wasn’t done. Ross Taylor faced the last ball and another dot! Narine had just bowled the only maiden super over in cricket history.
