China Unveils Stealth Fighter Ahead of Biennial Airshow

Beijing has unveiled a new kind of stealth fighter ahead of China's largest airshow.

00:00Over the next few days, aircraft of all kinds will be taking to the skies in the southern

00:05Chinese city of Zhuhai.

00:12It's playing host to China's biannual International Aviation and Aerospace Expo, which is one

00:17of the largest in the world.

00:19Although the six-day event doesn't begin until Tuesday, a lot of the attention is already

00:24on China's new fighter jet, the J-35.

00:31Little is known about the stealth aircraft, which has a similar shape to the U.S.'s F-35,

00:37but China plans to use the fighter jet on its aircraft carriers as it pushes for more

00:41advanced capabilities.

00:57The J-35 is yet to be publicly tested, but if it passes, China will become the second

01:02country in the world after the U.S. to have two stealth fighter jets.

01:06With thousands of visitors expected at this year's expo, organizers are anticipating more

01:11than 40 billion U.S. dollars in sales and agreements, as China seeks to make its mark

01:16in the global defense industry.
