00:00Today, I just want to give you a quick update about what's happening with the administration
00:04of Rex Airlines.
00:06The Albanese Government has agreed to provide financing of up to $80 million to keep Rex's
00:11regional routes flying during an extension of the voluntary administration process.
00:17This will give regional aviation the best chance of a sustainable future.
00:22We've also granted early access to entitlements for former employees of the business.
00:28The administration is progressing well, and Rex's regional flights are continuing to
00:32operate as normal.
00:34While our Government's guarantee remains in place, it's yet to be used and flight bookings
00:39are holding up well, so thanks to all the passengers flying Rex.
00:43Rex administrators intend to apply to the Federal Court to extend the voluntary administration
00:48until 30 June next year.
00:50The Government will continue to work closely with the airline administrators on options
00:54to support a strong regional aviation sector into the future.
00:59In the meantime, the financing will support Rex's regional businesses to continue offering
01:04critical services for our regional communities.
