00:00I have come here to warn of a terrible truth that science has been pointing out for a long time and that there are still some who continue to despise, and that is that climate change kills.
00:13Only last year it killed more than 300,000 people and has just contributed to the death of more than 220 of my compatriots in Spain, in the greatest natural disaster in our history.
00:28At this crucial moment for humanity, we are seeing many governments hesitate, stop the pace when it is necessary to move faster, or even deny the evidence, turn around and walk backwards,
00:42returning to oil, to combustion vehicles, to deregulation, just to keep the rich being richer.
00:51It will be of little use if we only do it one, if not all, because the planet has a single atmosphere and all its climatic patterns are interconnected.
01:00That is why I conclude by asking, as one of the most vulnerable countries to climate change, that we act, that we stop dragging our feet, that we stop denying science,
01:09that we comply with the promise we made to humanity seven years ago when we signed the Paris Agreement.
