00:00Sergeant Nick Datchler from Nottinghamshire Police Dog Section. I'm just going to give you a bit of a
00:05run-through of this job with PD Seth from an abandoned vehicle. So the handler at the moment
00:10is taking him to the abandoned vehicle, starting at the driver's side as that's the most important
00:15side for us. We're predominantly looking for the driver from any vehicle that's been abandoned.
00:20So Chris is just allowing his dog to start from the driver's side. From this point you can see
00:27that the dog's now happy that he's picked up on something. We're using a long line and harness to
00:31allow the dog to pull and indicate and take the handler where they need to go. So at this point
00:35the handler is following the dog. We can see that he's tracking across the grass, still very
00:41interested, nose down. We come across to the junction and again through the intensity and
00:48speed of the dog we can all say we're happy that the dog's now found somebody. Yeah so from this
00:54point now we've found the person. We're moving into a stage of compliance. The handler will be
00:58speaking to the subject just in order to gauge how compliant they are. He'll be asking them to show
01:04himself, bring himself out of the bushes where he's in hiding and walk across to local officers,
01:11which he does. So at this point there's no necessity to send the dog towards the subject.
01:16We'll allow him to give himself up. So this point where he's happy that he's over and he's safe
01:21in the hands of the local officers, this is the point where the handler can reward the dog with
01:26his toy for a really really good job. You're looking at the traffic, the time of day, all the
01:31other sort of elements of distraction for the dog. For him to be single-minded to find that person
01:38is a really really good piece of work on the back of that he is a really young dog.
