00:00Let's get to some action tonight on the ice. Pete, we'll take a look at Detroit and Pittsburgh
00:07tonight. If we look at the FanBull Sportsbook, the odds opened up as a minus 134 favorite
00:10up to minus 140 for Pittsburgh tonight. Red Wings coming into the season. Expectations,
00:16we'll see how they finish. 6-7 right now. The Penguins 6-9 right now. What are the expectations
00:21tonight between Detroit and Pittsburgh for you, Pete?
00:25These two teams are so Jekyll and Hyde right now. Pittsburgh's had some ugly losses this
00:29season. They really got embarrassed the other day by Dallas, who I mentioned is really one
00:35of the deepest, if not the single deepest team in the entire league. They can't hang
00:39with teams like that anymore. They can hang, though, with the Detroit Red Wings, who are
00:44very topsy-turvy. They almost made the playoffs last year, but had a pretty bad last couple
00:49of weeks of the season. I can't really fully trust Detroit at this point in time to make
00:56the playoffs. So yeah, Pittsburgh, I think, is in a good bounce back spot here. They still
01:01have, you know, Crosby and Malkin have been playing a lot of the season so far on the
01:06same line, which is not something that we've seen in years past. The third wheel on that
01:11line is Ricard Raquel, who has been productive, has a good shot volume. So maybe by association
01:17to Crosby and Malkin, you look at Ricard Raquel in the props market and stuff like that for
01:22goals or shots on goal any given night.
01:25Pete, also coming up for the Wednesday afternoon slate, the Maple Leafs going across to Washington
01:30to take on OV in the Capitals. Expected to be a close one. Both teams have been playing
01:35some really strong hockey, but do the Maple Leafs have that offense and that juice in
01:40trying to go with Ovechkin in the Capitals, who seem to be putting up a lot of goals?
01:45Yeah, keep an eye on whether Austin Matthews plays in this game. He's missed the last number
01:50of games here and a bad loss for for Toronto against the Ottawa Senators, who are a non
01:57playoff team, you would say, but can catch it by surprise any given night. So wouldn't
02:02be surprised to see Toronto bounce back here, even without Matthews. They've they've played
02:07pretty well, generally speaking, whether it was last postseason without Matthews for a
02:11couple of games. Remember, they still rallied in first game seven against the Bruins without
02:16Matthews. So they're capable at that plus number to compete in that game, even though
02:22the Capitals have been hot and stuff like that. I feel like Wash, I mean, Toronto still
02:28has like probably other than OV, the four or five best players on both ends of the ice
02:33in that game.
02:35Couple other games on the card tonight, Pete. Hurricanes and the Hockey Club Kings, Avalanche
02:39Golden Knights and the Ducks. Any looks from those three games or which one's your favorite
02:42game?
02:44Hurricanes, Utah is interesting. I mentioned Utah's dealing with injuries to a couple of
02:49key defensemen. Sean Dursey out for four plus months and they got Sergeyev in the offseason.
02:57He's been kind of like a man on an island so far because John Marino, who came over
03:01that same day, also is injured for four plus months. So they're reeling a little bit since
03:06a hot since a hot start to the season. Carolina, I would expect them to probably win that game.
03:13Their offense is rolling right now in the props market. Look at guys like Jack Roslevic,
03:18Martin Nietzsche. These guys have been some of the most productive players in the entire
03:23NHL over the past two or three weeks of the season, and nobody really seems to be talking
03:27about them. Carolina is also a very good road team.
