00:04Let's update on the situation there with Darlene Kaye's on-the-spot report.

00:13Connie, it's raining heavily and sometimes there's strong wind.

00:17That's what we're experiencing here in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte,

00:20where Signal No. 3 has been elevated.

00:24The residents here have not yet been able to get up from their tents

00:27when the typhoon hit.

00:31I'm standing here at Pasaling Elementary School in Barangay Pasaling.

00:36And what you can see behind me is the students' clinic.

00:41That's the place where the typhoon hit.

00:44The roof was destroyed, the walls were destroyed,

00:47all the equipment inside was destroyed.

00:50The tables, chairs, and learning materials were all destroyed.

00:54Only one part of this school was damaged.

00:57There are other parts of the school that were severely damaged by the typhoon Marse.

01:03Pagudpud is one of the places that has been affected by the typhoon.

01:11Now, the local government is on alert.

01:14They are monitoring Barangay Pasaling and Barangay Panshan

01:18where there are places that are flood-prone and landslide-prone.

01:21Because it's in the coastal area, it's also dangerous here because of the storm surge.

01:27For now, the local government of Pagudpud is preparing to evacuate the residents here.

01:35Five percent of the town is without electricity according to the MDRRMO.

01:40Here is the statement of the teacher we spoke to and the MDRRMO of Pagudpud.
