00:00It was a fourth place at 2015, they've been to the knockout stage of the last two.
00:07And Equatorial Guinea head out shoulder to shoulder with Algeria, the Nuevo Estadio de Malabo.
00:23Equatorial Guinea against Algeria here from Malabo.
00:30Nothing to do in terms of qualification, both nations will line up in Morocco next year.
00:43Algeria have been almost perfect, the only slight plot on their jotter.
00:50One goal, a lovely play, now needing a final ball. Jose Machin out to the right side, takes it back.
01:02Now a chance to strike, very confident from Pedro Obiang.
01:08Swings it in low, Obiang trying something improvised with Islam Slimani.
01:15Now taking the honour all to himself. Slimani though still the all-time national goal-scoring hero.
01:26Oh very cool and collected, so just checking four on home soil. Started with a friendly
01:33victory over Cambodia for defeating Malawi in their world cup qualifier.
01:39Two-all draw here against Togo, looked like being a costly one,
01:48but now a strike for goal is fired over from both into a prime condition.
01:58Certainly prime conditions in terms of the weather, lovely day in Malabo.
02:04What we hope will be a festival of football for two teams already
02:08qualified for the AFCON in Morocco. Ball swung in, wonder if the flag might have gone up but
02:17although his last goal in Thunder Red back at the start of the year.
02:25Chance to deliver but Okidjo already had his hand up, knew that was flying wastefully over.
02:38Lovely little reverse ball, heavy touch though, allows an easy grab from Ryan Ayudnuri.
02:50Now hoping his side can try and pick up a huge victory, oh and it might just
03:00have got started if Yannick Vaila had been able to.
03:08Great first touch allows the opportunity to deliver, clever ball into Machen. Reverse ball
03:18and it is an effort on goal but Ndong never really getting hold of it.
03:25Shimmer or magic but this one player has been exciting. Amura battling away against two red
03:34shirts. Marez, that's a brilliant ball right to the back post but enough done by the defender.
03:43Back on the ball and driving forward. It's the break of the ball, lovely little shimmy
03:49away from Benrama far too easily. Ball swung in, oh it's a great chance and it's a fabulous save
03:55from Okidjo. What an opportunity for Luis Azua. Danger not quite over for the Foxes yet.
04:07Ndong wants it.
04:11A real bit of excitement in stoppage time at the end of the first half.
04:16There's a long ranger from Machen easily. Marez taken for a spin by Machen.
04:25Najira keeping the ball and then Jesus Owono coming out confidently.
04:34But that's the halftime whistle. Well it started well.
04:39Equatorial Guinea putting real pressure on the Foxes who
04:46wearing the number 17 shirt.
04:52Mohamed Amin Madani heading on the 31 year old. Recently left CS Constantine
05:03for starting jersey at Kabali.
05:10Already Algerian defence under pressure. Cleared out by Mohamed Faris. To the conditions
05:17on the road, an added challenge. Algeria are facing here Malabo.
05:22It's Etienne but recently heading out to Iran.
05:33The other end Jesus Owono sees the first shot on target. Everyone behind the ball for Algeria.
05:44Lovely little flick around the corner from Obiang.
05:47It's a decent strike but well off target from Omar Massa.
05:55Lifts it in. Okidjo as he has done throughout his career. Often preferring to punch
06:04than a short spell in Switzerland with Lugano. Swings in a dangerous ball. They were queuing up
06:13and in the end flicked wide.
06:20Lovely spin.
06:24Assoui.
06:26And striking deflected but Okidjo keeps it from going behind.
06:31Samin Gouiri. No one able to quite get under control and now the red shirts flood forward.
06:38Luis Enrique Assoui. Does at least make sure they win a corner.
06:48Get on for his Desert Fox debut.
06:57Seems having to wait a little longer.
06:58I think he managed to sneak on during that break.
07:11There he is. On a proud occasion. Although how much time he'll get to impress. Another question.
07:22Just showing a bit too much of the ball as he drove forward. Gouiri again one-on-one.
07:31Just tries to bundle his way through.
07:35Clips it across.
07:38And then struck through. Oh well he may have seen it late. Rami Zarouki appeared to catch Jesus.
07:47That denied Luis Assoui.
07:54And then Jesus Owono with a save there. Well the referee rushing over there.
08:01Clearly something has seen a huge reaction and both benches getting involved. It's
08:09a fiery end to what is officially a goalless draw between Equatorial Guinea and Algeria.
08:17Well this result would have been enough to take Equatorial Guinea to Morocco 2025.
08:23But the victory for Liberia against Togo had already confirmed that.
08:31Both goalkeepers with vital stops as peace seems to rain out now.
08:40In the end they are delighted. They didn't get the win or the goal they were hoping to see.
08:45But Equatorial Guinea can now provide the ovation the National Thunder deserve
08:52as they prepare to return to the Africa Cup of Nations.
08:59It'll just be the fifth time they have been to the competition. But every time
09:07they've been to the latter stages they'll want to continue that for Algeria.
09:15As we see Dorian Junior and Zarouki get the bookings for kick-starting that melee.
09:24Although I think overall calm has been restored.
09:29But Algeria their 100% record may be over but they remain unbeaten in the group.
09:36And now 100% confirmed group winners.
09:43They will head to their 21st Afcon.
