Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo says Trump is "not going to allow Vladimir Putin to roll through Ukraine."
Transcript
00:00President Trump is not going to allow Vladimir Putin to roll through Ukraine, right?
00:05And withdrawing funding from Ukrainians would result in that.
00:07He will be told that by his entire team.
00:10And he's just not his model, not his M.O. to allow that to happen.
00:14He is going to try to bring peace.
00:15He's going to try and bring a resolution there that everybody can find a way through.
00:20And my hope – by the way, it was very kind of you to say my op-ed was detailed, it was
00:25800 words.
00:26There was still a lot.
00:27That's a good blooper.
00:29There was a lot that I elided intentionally, some of the hardest things.
00:33But conceptually, I think it was a model for what's really important.
00:37I think, Leon, it's important that we win, that we, the West, wins.
00:41That perception will – to talk about this interconnectivity, Xi Jinping is waiting to
00:45see if we hang in there, if we win.
00:47The ayatollah in Iran is waiting to see, are they going to hang in there?
00:51Are they – is the West going to – are we going to allow Vladimir Putin to have defeated
00:54us?
00:55So however we define that, or more importantly, however he and the world define that, it's
01:00absolutely critically important the perception is that the West stood up to this thug, this
01:05horrible guy, and didn't allow evil to triumph.
01:09And that's imperative.
01:10And I'm very hopeful President Trump will see that imperative.
01:13And everybody knows he loves to win.
01:16And I hope that he'll follow through on that and deliver on that.
