00:30oh there you go this is no this is trombone duty is a different meaning
00:56what's the tutu again what does it mean all everything everyone so it means that
01:02to the trombone is for everything it's for everyone it's all trombones
01:06ah so the that in the concert all the instruments are trombone yeah so can you
01:13tell us about more about this concert yeah so maybe you can use the mic okay
01:18hey you have your lapel yeah okay so I'm so excited to know about this concert
01:37because this is my first time to know about trombone that's my first time to
01:41see this kind of instrument so how why do you like this kind of suit to play see
01:47it it's it has a lot that it can do you know it can be strong it can be gentle
01:53and pretty it can imitate like vocal inflections because it has this slide
01:58there's like a lot of different realms that you can kind of go into playing the
02:03trombone it's a versatile yeah so the the tutti series tutti is Italian it
02:12means like everyone it's it's like the FEU Center of the Arts yearly concert
02:20that features different instruments so it's like tutti flutti is like the flute
02:24series this year is trombone so tutti trombone it's all trombones yeah what
02:31makes you think this collaboration is special for this event it's it's for one
02:38thing with the institutions you know it's gonna feature the UST trombone
02:41choir it's going to feature the FEU marching band German Bugle Corps it's
02:48gonna feature like some classical music some jazz music it's like international
02:53and local as well so what's your thought about because Filipinos definitely
03:01they're having difficulty in appreciating this kind of instrument so
03:05what's your thought about that so do you think this is the Filipino will welcome
03:10this kind of concert here in the Philippines? I think I think that coming to this concert
03:15with an open mind and an open heart will kind of maybe leave most people
03:19pleasantly surprised because there's gonna be a lot of different kinds of
03:23music that's gonna be played a lot of different realms of trombone is it
03:27difficult to play with this kind of instrument oh yeah oh yeah so how long
03:31you've been playing with that about 14 years 14 years ago yeah how many weeks
03:36do you need to practice to learn? Everyone says 10,000 hours is like a
03:42mastery to look for but it's probably infinite honestly I will have basic
03:48knowledge about it how do you mean well if you can play it you can play that
03:55alone without any other musical instruments something like that oh yeah
04:01yeah I like to play with other people I prefer that but playing solo is
04:07definitely something that can be done as well. As a professor is it hard to
04:11teach how to play that instrument? I would say the fundamentals for me
04:19because more of my teaching is like high school and college I have an easier time
04:25teaching people who have established some fundamentals yeah it's really hard
04:30to teach the fundamentals for me. I just want to know what age did you realize
04:36that I like this kind of instrument and what makes you like for this kind of
04:41instrument or you're playing a lot of instruments hmm I would say maybe around
04:46when I started when I was 13 years old I think yeah I just had a lot of fun as I
04:53was learning it. What's your message to those people who are interested in
05:00playing trombone? I would say go on a deep soul search on YouTube, Spotify, Apple
05:07Music and find find things that you really like with trombone and go from
05:12there. Deep you have the research it seems like it's very difficult indeed to
05:19play with that kind of instrument. Can you learn trombone by just by watching
05:23YouTube or videos on the internet? I mean for learning there are a lot of
05:28resources but it's definitely probably best to find a mentor or you know learn
05:33in school if it's available. Is it necessary that it's like you have the
05:39inclination to music or you can play without even though you didn't have any
05:45more talent in music or playing an instrument you can do it? Oh yeah I would
05:50say if you have a curiosity and you just follow that you can do that. Yeah so and
05:56that's it we we want to know more about your concert and about that kind of
06:00instrument and I like to play with that kind of instrument as well but can you
06:06invite the our viewers to watch your concert? Yes it's gonna be at 6 p.m. at
06:15the FEU auditorium November 18th Monday all right
06:21Maraming Salamat sa pagbabahagi sabi ng Dalia patungkol dito sa collaborative
06:24concert ng Tuti Trombone Mr. Ethan Santos. Thank you so much
