00:00Honestly, I didn't feel pressured,
00:03but I wanted to carve my own way.
00:05That's why Amano proudly is,
00:09I would say, was very different
00:11from the Italian restaurant she started.
00:13I really tried to make it as different as a concept.
00:16I thought of other paths, actually,
00:30rather than hospitality.
00:32But I think the pull of seeing happy faces
00:37from all the guests of my mom, of my uncles,
00:40and all their restaurants sort of really pulled me in
00:44and made me want to consider that path as well.
00:48All the things that I learned and heard from her
00:51just being in her periphery
00:53is quite obvious when in the restaurant.
00:54So as much as I want to say that I did my own way,
00:58really, I think her influence is still there.
01:00Our level of hospitality here,
01:03our unique Filipino hospitality,
01:05you can really see it even with Filipinos living abroad.
