00:00Good morning, my name is Phil Hewitt, Group Arts Editor for Sussex Newspapers. Really
00:05lovely to speak to Snow White, no less. Georgie Hales, Snow White in Eastbourne this Christmas
00:10and goodness, you've had an interesting few years, haven't you? You were one of the students
00:15most affected perhaps in that awful pandemic year, but your reward is Arena Tour with Boy
00:21George last year and now the lead in Panto. It's been quite some journey, hasn't it?
00:26It has been, but it's been very exciting and I've learned a lot along the way and I'm super
00:32happy to be here at Christmas playing Snow White. It's going to be amazing. It's going
00:37to be fantastic.
00:38And Snow White, really interesting role, isn't it? How are you going to approach Snow White?
00:42What have you got to be to be Snow White, do you think?
00:47We've got a lot of princess training, I would call it. A lot of getting into that character,
00:55really working out my relationships with the other people on the stage and getting
01:01into that princess mindset, kind, witty, caring. Yeah, it's very exciting and you know, obviously
01:09research, watching the movie and practising my lines and practising my singing and it's
01:15all going to come together.
01:16Basically, your job is to be lovely every night, probably twice a day, at least.
01:21Let's hope, up to three times a day.
01:23And your first proper panto, in effect.
01:30Yes, so since I was younger, it's my first professional panto, so that will be really
01:36exciting.
01:37But you did have kind of relevant experience in the arena tour that you did last year with
01:42Boy George, which must have been fantastic.
01:44I did. I did. There was a lot of, you know, the panto-esque jokes, but obviously it's
01:51a bit harder when you're in an arena of 15,000 people, it's not so easy to get those quick
01:56punchlines in there.
01:57But it was a fantastic experience.
02:00So, all working towards, you know, each experience leads you on to the next.
02:04Absolutely, and lovely that your professional panto debut is so close to the family home,
02:09isn't it?
02:10The family is just up the road.
02:12Yeah, exactly.
02:13So it'll be lovely for them to come and watch as well.
02:16Brilliant.
02:16Well, congratulations on the role.
02:18Lovely to speak to you and have a great time.
02:21Thank you very much.
