Selangor’s financial position has continued to strengthen, with the Consolidated Fund totalling RM4.36 bil this year, an increase of RM751.46 million compared to RM3.61 billion in 2023.

When tabling the Selangor Budget 2025 on Friday (Nov 15), Mentri Besar Amirudin Shari also said Selangor is the first state in Malaysia to record economic activity valued at RM400bil.

00:00I've been asking for this for a long time.
00:03Selangor has recorded an average GDP growth of 7.43%,
00:08exceeding the average GDP growth for 2021-2025,
00:14which has been set in the first Selangor plan,
00:17which is 6.5% to 7% for 2021-2023.
00:24Selangor is also recording new success by contributing 25.9%
00:29to gross domestic output for 2023,
00:32creating a history of economic activity worth Rp406.1 billion
00:38and becoming the first country in Malaysia
00:40to have economic activity worth more than Rp400 billion.
00:47Mr. Speaker,
00:49due to several steps to improve the performance of the Selangor state's financial system,
00:54which is getting stronger,
00:55and this can be seen through the combined amount of money that has increased
00:59to Rp751.46 million,
01:04which is from Rp3.614 billion at the end of 2023
01:09to Rp4.365.500.031.83.
