00:00Hi guys and welcome to DriveSpark, I'm Pramit and today the car that we are driving is technically
00:10you can call it that this is one of the best sleeper cars that you can see on the Indian
00:17roads and let me tell you that this may look like a regular 3 series when it is approaching
00:24but when it has crossed you, you will see a badge that says M340i and you will see
00:31the twin exhaust, the rear diffuser and that is when you will know that this thing is super
00:37fast just because of the badge that it has on the tailgate.
00:43So yeah guys, welcome to DriveSpark and today we are driving the all new M340i and we'll
00:50be telling you everything you need to know about this super sedan.
00:59This as I mentioned that this looks like a regular sedan from the outside, a regular
01:043 series when it's approaching but as and when the car comes close to you, you will
01:08realise that there are things present on this that there are not on the regular 3 series.
01:13Just like the front grill, it is in a piano black finish, again it has a different design,
01:20it does not have the M badge but definitely you can see a lot of piano black finishing
01:24on the front and that indicates, I mean, there is no chrome, so that indicates that this
01:29is a sporty car.
01:31Now you have the M bumper that has air ducts, looks really nice, you've got these updated
01:36LED headlamps that has these inverted twin DRL that gives it a very aggressive stance
01:42from the front.
01:43Now if you move to the side, you will have 19-inch wheels and these wheels are shredded
01:48with 225-40, now very low profile tyre, that's why you have some amount of tyre noise inside
01:54the cabin on bad roads but overall as you can see now that the car is really smooth,
02:00it's a smooth road and I'm driving at around 60 kilometres an hour and there is almost
02:06no noise inside the cabin.
02:08You have M badges on the fenders on either sides and you have M alloy wheels that are
02:14diamond cut and you can see you have a side skirt, then if you move to the back, there
02:18is where you'll see the M340i badge, apart from that, you will notice that again there
02:23is a lot of piano black finishing at the rear that is in the form of a diffuser, again giving
02:29the car a sporty look, what it deserves.
02:31So you can also see that you have twin exhausts at the back and both are functional, one of
02:37them has a valve, so you, whenever, right now we are in comfort mode, so the valve is
02:42shut but when you are in sport or sport plus mode, there is when the valve will open and
02:47I will do that when I'm explaining the engine of this car, so it has all these crackles
02:53when you downshift and it has a really really nice exhaust note.
02:58Now that concludes the exterior and before that, if you notice the taillights, they might
03:03look like regular V & Alu wrapped around taillights but if they are switched off and
03:07the car is standing, you will notice that they are smoked, which again makes the car
03:12even more sportier, when you look at it from the rear.
03:20Now coming to the inside, again a lot of things have changed, first of all, you can see that
03:23this big infotainment system and the touchscreen, it's a single unit, obviously there are two
03:28screens but it looks like it's a curved single unit screen, apart from that, you have carbon
03:33fibre finishing on the dash, you have soft-touch material all over, you have carbon fibre finishing
03:37on the centre console as well, you have three zone climate control and again, the rear section,
03:44if you can see, not the most comfortable but yeah, definitely, this car can seat four people
03:50and you can take them along with its luggage because this has a 480 litres of boot space
03:55that can accommodate luggage for four people very nicely.
03:59Now, if you just look at how the interiors are done, it is a very driver-focused car,
04:06so if you sit at the front seat, the seats are like bucket seats and they have, obviously
04:12they are electronic, both driver and passenger but the driver's side has a side bolster switch
04:18where you can just adjust the side bolster, it will tighten up and loosen up if you want
04:23them, if you're cornering hard, so it will not allow you to move out of the seat when
04:27you're moving through corners really fast, since obviously this is a very fast car and
04:33seats are comfortable, seats are very nice, you also get a sunroof again and again at
04:39the back, you get your third zone climate control, you have an armrest, the transmission
04:43tunnel is running right through the centre because it's an all-wheel drive, a four-wheel-drive car,
04:48so four people are best on the inside, so the interiors are really nice and there is
04:53a Harman Kardon 11-speaker sound system that sounds really mesmerizing if you tune it well
04:59from the equalizer that this BMW offers.
05:06Now, let's get to the main part of the video and that is the engine of this car, why is
05:12this better than a regular 3 Series and that is because this car is powered by a 3-litre
05:19inline-six motor, that motor is tuned to produce 369bhp of power and 500nm of peak torque and
05:28all that power is delivered to all the wheels since this is an all-wheel drive or a four-wheel-drive
05:34car, so let me just show you what happens if you put sport plus mode, if you can now
05:41listen, there is no noise from the exhaust but as I hit the button, if you notice that
05:50the exhaust not changed and if I switch gears down, but if I'm on manual mode on sport plus
06:04and if I floor, this happens.
06:14We already have reached the 120 mark so soon and that is because this car can go from a 0-100
06:24in a claimed 4.4 seconds and we'll be doing that but we will be posting that reel on our
06:32Instagram and YouTube Shorts and Reels so you can go check that out, let me just launch this car
06:39once from start so you can hear the exhaust note, brakes are really really nice, okay, here we go.
07:02Damn fast, yeah, so this has a top speed of, okay, so now I switched modes and you can see the car
07:11has calmed down, wow, this thing is really like it is running on rails, you will literally forget
07:21what is under steer, it is just sitting on rails, this thing is very quick, this thing is very
07:31responsive, the suspensions adapt to your, they are not airmatic but they have electronic dampers,
07:37the suspensions adapt to the drive modes, so you have Eco Pro, you have comfort, you have sport
07:44and then you have sport plus, so sport plus you just saw right now we are in comfort mode,
07:48this thing can give a fuel efficiency of around 12 to 13 kilometres per litre if you drive on
07:54Eco Pro comfort mode but when you have this car who drives on Eco mode, just hear those crackles.
08:16Okay, so now the pricing of this car, so the BMW M340i carries an ex-showroom price
08:22of around 73 lakh rupees ex-showroom and that I feel if you are fortunate enough, you should
08:28definitely go pick one up because this is something that you will keep and this engine is so tunable
08:39with just like a stage one or a stage two tune, you can just reach up to the 500 bhp mark with
08:46supporting mods and I mean this engine is so nice, so at this price point, I think the M340i justifies
08:56every bit of money that you spend on it. I'm Praveen signing out, see you next time,
09:00thank you so much for watching, take care, be safe and drive safe.
